How to Choose a Good PE Foam Sheet Extrusion Line

Dear Sir or Madam:

This composition is to give basic knowledge and some cautions for new

friends and foreign buyers. The description is with some photos and so before

your travel, the pictures can tell you many things. As per our knowledge, some Chinese suppliers gives very good description and gives very poor machine.

Their target is for only to fool new foreign buyers. I hope this composition may

save some of your time.

1. Key points:

1.1 Choose a proper model and a good machine supplier. A good machine,

especially a bigger model, such as JYD-150 can save you 1.2 million CN Yuan.

(As per China domestic market. A JYD-150 purchase price is 0.7 million CN

Yuan.) Only the saved material will make you a millionaire within 1 year.

1st of all, check your market.

1)If your market is selling EPE product by kilo, so your target is nice looking only.

Unit product weight is not important. You must ask supplier how smooth and

maximum unit weight. Jing Ye Da’s small model can adjust to somewhat

smooth. Bigger models (JYD-135 or bigger) can give you absolutely flat sheets.

Maximum can reach 95 kg/cbm.

2)If your market requires both different densities and weights. You must pay

focus attention to unit weight. As per the market of China, the sales benefit is

very small. If your sheet is of 20 kg/cbm, other supplier’s average product

weight is only 16 kg/cbm. Surely you are to lose both money and your old

buyers. In South China, we usually buy a bigger model for a small production

capacity. For instance JYD-150 for only 1000 mm wide and 7 mm thick. The

key target is 16 kg/cbm or even lighter.

3)Therefore we introduce to you a JYD-90 and a JYD-150. If so, many types of

profiles you can also produce.

4)If you are poor or market is too small, OK. Lower down to only a JYD-90. For

thicker sheets, you can add an EPE Bonding Machine. We are sure you will

come back to us and expand your business.

There is a basic knowledge, small model gives lighter product for thin sheet.

Bigger model gives lighter weight for thicker sheet. So the best solution is to

buy 2 extrusion lines. One big and the other small. If so, the bigger one can

also gives super high density product.

Universal model: JYD-105 is universal model to most small companies. It

gives both thin and thicker sheets. Can also make bigger profiles. Most foreign buyer often choose JYD-120, because it can give the thinnest sheet of 0.5 mm.

However it is possibly the worst model. Both thin and thick sheet’s unit weight is heavy. Not economic.

1.2 Man power saving: In Western countries, man power is very expensive and

so a big material blender of 250 kg and an auto loader is needed. However if

your machine is of a small model and powder talcum is used. The powder will sink down to the bottom. So this system can not use. But you can use the

blender to mix master batch and recycled material and even whitening agent.

A good operator can easily keep 2 or 3 PE Foam Sheet Extrusion Line

working if you give him 1 helper each machine. A good operator can reduce

wastage, give you lighter product and better looking. His annual saved money can be more than a million. So we can say a good operator is to simply to

make you richer.

Keep the machine working for 24 hours a day. Never stop it in the middle

only if the machine is working. If your market does not need so much quantity, you may keep your machine working for 2 or 3 weeks a month. Of course you can also do deep process for profile, EPE blocks and EPE bag making, etc.

1.3 Use some recycled material. All our models accept. Bigger models can even

use 100% recycled LDPE resin.

1.4 Retarder and special agents: No problem at all. You may try. In domestic

China market, many types are used. Whitening agent is probably the most

popularly used for recycled material.

1.5 Water reuse: It is easy. Our machine has the system. Built a water reservoir

and install a water cooling tower. With a water pump, you can reuse all the

time.

2.Butane supply stability: Butane or LPG is the foaming gas. It must be stable and quantity must be freely adjustable. The simplest solution is to choose 3 heads design. It is regulated by V. F. drive. However if your machine is a small one, 3 pumps gives too much gas. Not needed.

3. Butane/ LPG bottle

In China, usually gas bottle with 2 nozzles. Small and easy. You can link 10 bottles together. This way you do not need to install new bottles frequently. Safe, because only 50 kg a bottle. We are evening use it for home cooking use.

Nitrogen is only to push the butane or LPG into the pump.

In many foreign countries, no such good gas bottle. Only big gas tank is available. If so, you have to add an air pump. It is to increase gas pressure. Most new buyers do not know. At beginning no air pump, it works well. But later the machine does not work well. This is because by and by gas inside the tank is less and less. The pressure is too low. Proper pressure before entering the butane pump should be minimum 10 bars. So an air pump is needed.

The gas cab is usually outside the workshop. Better to keep minimum 10

meters away. No electrical light is allowed to install in this cab. Any slight

sparkle may cause a fire disaster.

4. Important parts explanation:

Many buyers asked why JYD machine is more expensive. It is a wrong

question. The machine parts are better.

4.1 Material Blender, auto loader and mini talcum extruder :

If a small model, a 50 kg blender is enough. If your man power is expensive or

you want your operator’s job to be easier, get a 250 kg blender.

Auto loader is also for easy job.However if your talcum is of powder, not grain, the auto loader is useless. Because the powder will sink down to the bottom.

So you must consider a mini talcum extruder controlled by variable frequency drive. Directly send talcum into the barrel. Furthermore if your talcum is mixed with LDPE resin, in the middle if you want to increase or decrease the talcum quantity, you will have to wait till the whole hopper’s LDPE resin to finish. By then the talcum quantity can change. So stupid a solution. If with our mini

extruder, quick and easy. You must know talcum is the product’s beauty maker.

You must control its quantity well and accurately.

4.2 Check the cast aluminum ring heaters. If quality is not good enough,

surely to have trouble.

4.3 Talcum pump: 1st to check the pump and console themselves. If a

cheaper one, the supplier may save up to 800 USD. 2nd is to check the gas ball valve. The gas ball valve is often bad. Our solution is very simple and straight

forward: use only Germany made ball valve.

4.2 Hydraulic station and double-filter exchange system: For this extrusion line, you have to use this and must be of top quality and stability. Because you must complete filter exchange within 0.2 seconds. Otherwise the sheet will be broken. Many Chinese suppliers give you a cheaper one. Please do not hold back. It must be a good one.

4.3 Foaming amplifier & head console:

Foaming amplifier is by a patented rights. With it, you can get better foaming and nicer looking. If without it, your product average weight will be higher. You lose 1 million every year.

If no head console to tell you the mould pressure and temperature, your operator must be careful all the time. Refer to the left picture below.

4.4 Mandrel and air ring, refer to the above right pictures. Air ring is for cooling. The mandrel is made of steel. Usually we give 3 pieces of different

sizes for each extrusion line. Its function is to fix your EPE sheet width. If too big, you can not make smaller sheets. If too small, you can wrap something onto the steel pipe. The mandrel is cooling by water with 2 layers design. With water nozzles.

By the way, slitting knife by electricity is easier. If driven by compressed air, you must prepare an air compressor.

4.5 Static eliminator, meter counter & transverse roller

1)Static eliminator is to get rid of static electricity, to get rid of sparkles.

2)Meter counter, with a wheel and tells you how many meters. Be careful, do not

use rpm counter. If that way, you have to calculate every time.

3)Transverse roller is to pull sheets in transverse direction. With it, your sheet will

be more smooth and become 100 mm wider.

4.6 Turret winding station: The key point is that the air shaft is semi automatic.

Manual to expand or shrink the air shaft. So no compressed air is need. With a step-on switch for operator’s emergency use.

4.7 cabinets: JYD cabinet is designed as per global convention. Nearly all

electrical components and parts are universal. Fixed with terminal racks. All key wires are with numbers.
