Roles- Individual Activity No.10 (T o be done during Internship) Develop your responses to the following questions.

1.The five most important areas of activity for me are, in order of important:

a)Manage the Samples rooms, keep the Sample rooms clean and tidy. Take out the

right fabric quickly when it is necessary.

b)Make sufficient hooks of different fabrics.

c)Contact with customers who place an order recently.

d)Call the Express Company; ask them to take the express of current day.

e)Use the computer to make the labels which are used for tagging on two sides of

each roll of fabric. Then cope the labels by using the copy machine and give all the labels to the Warehouse Manager.

2.The major outcomes from my job are:

a)During the first month internship, I’m a Sample Rooms’Keeper. In this

period, I have known a lot of fabrics, learning how to differentiate the

different fabrics. With my master’s teaching, I have learned the approach of

making the hooks and have utilized the steam iron expertly which I have

never touched before. The most important thing is that I have realized the

personal relationship in this society is significant for a new employee. As our

company is a family private corporation, all the employees are boss’s

relatives or friends, so it is difficult to deal with the relationship. When facing

this problem, I felt so tied and annoyed. But I still try my best to deal with it.

b)After May holidays, I’m not only a Sample Rooms’ Keeper, but also I should

contact with customers. From talking with customers, I have mastered some

speaking skills. I felt all the businessmen are shrewd, if I want to have

achievement in this field, I should turn to be that person like them. Throw

away simplicity and puerility.

3.Targets, quantitative where possible, which I am expected to meet are:

In the internship, I plan to have five customers. To this day, I only got one customer. He is a Korean, the manager of XingHai Corporation in KeQiao branch. I obtained

this customer because one day he came to our company to see the sample fabrics, I serves him and talked to each other. I made a promise to pick up him when he comes to ShaoXing next time, and we changed our name card. To sum up, I only got this customer, it is far from my target, and I should continue to try hard.

4.The most important people / departments for me to interact with are, in

order of important:

a)Mr. Li, my boss. The manager of this company.

b)Mrs. Y ang, my master. The original person who keep the Sample Rooms.

c)Mr. Han, and Mr. Hu. They are the customers who place an order recently.

d)Mr. Feng, my master’s husband. The Production Manager.

e)Mr. Xu, and Mrs. Li. They are the professional business person in JinJian

Corporation.

f)Mrs. Sun, the treasurer from Financial Department.

g)Ms. Fu, the young girl who is responsible for documentation.

5.The individuals / groups over whom I have direct authority are:

The individuals / groups over whom I have direct authority are the employees who give coffee, tea, go to banks, and stevedore.

6.The person(s) I am accountable to are:

a)Mr. Li, my boss. The manager of this company.

b)Mrs. Y ang, my master. The original person who keep the Sample Rooms.

c)Mr. Feng. The Production Manager.
