Specification of SUNEVER 3140(0735) This document defines the polyamic acid SUNEVER 3140(0735)(SE-3140(0735)) product of NISSAN CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES,LTD.

1.Material

This material is a yellowish colored polyamic acid, 0.5μm filtered, is

uniform in quality.

2.Specification

2-2 Measurement

The following items are measured for each production lot.

2-2-1 Solid content

Weigh out around 1.0 gram of material on an aluminum tray which

is 35 mm in diameter and 18 mm in depth.

Dry the sample in a dry circulating oven for 2 hours at 200

±5 ℃ . Cool down the dried material in a desiccator.

Measure the weight of cooled material and calculate the

percentage of the weight vs. original weight.

2-2-2 Viscosity

Measure the viscosity for the 1 ml sample using EHD viscometer

made by TOKYO-KEIKI LTD.

2-2-3 Color Index

Put the material into a clean test tube and judge the

GARDNER NUMBER by comparing it with the standard.

2-2-4 Na content

Put the material on a Pt tray. After evaporating

the solvents, burn the material in muffle at 750℃.

Add the hydrochloric acid and the water, and measure

by atomic absorption method.

2-2-5 Water content

Karlu-Fischer’s methods.

2-2-6 Butyl cellosolve content

Add the chroloform to the material. Stir the mixture

and leave it for a time. Sample the top and analyze it

by using gas chromatograph.

3.Packaging and Labeling

A polyethylene bottle of which quality has been checked is

used as a container.

After checking the necessary properties, a label on which

following items are written is attached .

( 1.) Commercial Name and Grade Number

( 2.) Lot No.

( 3.) Net weight (kg or g)

( 4.) Production date

( 5.) Maker's name

These bottles are delivered to the warehouse in Japan

you designate packed together with dry ice in a carton box.

The following data are attached .

5. Others

5-1 Promptly after receiving the material, the buyer shall

check the quantity and the packing condition and shall

inform the manufacturer of the defects, if any.

5-2 Since the material is apt to decompose ,the buyer shall

keep it in a FREEZER(below -10 degree) immediately after

receiving it.

5-3 If the material is properly stored in a freezer, it can be

used for 8 months after manufacture.

However Nissan warrants products for 2 months from date of delivery

ex-factory Nissan provided they are transported in proper way

and stored at proper places

5-4 Color differences are inevitable among Lot# and time of manufacture.

6.Technical Information

*All information and data herein are based on test we believe to

be accurate, but accuracy or completeness thereof is not guaranteed. SE-3140 is an alignment coating specially designed for super twisted nematic (STN) type LCD. SE-3140 is a standard grade of Low Residual

DC type. It has a wide process margin of pretilt angle.

For getting 60-80nm thick film after curing.

6-2-3 Standard curing condition

Pre-curing 5-10 min at 80 deg. C.

Curing 30-60 min around 180 – 250 deg. C.

[Curing Condition] 180deg.C/60min, 200deg.C/60min, 250deg.C/60min. [Rubbing Condition] Cloth :Rayon. Roll Speed:300rpm.

Stage Speed:20mm/sec. Pile contact length:0.5mm.

6-4 Pretilt angle vs. Rubbing Pressure

[Curing Condition] 250deg.C/60min.

[Rubbing Condition] Cloth :Rayon. Roll Speed:300rpm.

Stage Speed:20mm/sec.

[Imidization]

Curing time:60min.

Method: FT-IR

Standard :We define 100% imidization as at curing 300deg.C
