The Rich Should Do Some Good Deeds

Nowadays, with the economy boom, the rich are becoming more and more. While the gap between the rich and the poor is increasingly large. Therefore, the rich should be responsible for social problems and human issues. In other words, the rich should not escape from changing the world or saving the planet.

It is certain that rich here means wealthy enough. Apart from daily life of personal and family expense, they still have quite large amounts of money to do some good deeds. Take Philip Berber, the 47-year-old entrepreneur for example; he sold his online trading company in 2000 for 40 million dollars. However, Mr. Berber and his wife spend most of their fortune on charity except for some being put into safe investments. They made an effort to help Ethiopians fight against poverty by building water wells, schools and health clinics. He just uses his extra money but to make a great contribution to the society.

Only individual melts into society, can its value becomes true. Because what we have now and what we will make in the future all come from our society. Even if we have good fortune and work hard, the fact that we all benefit from this society is unchangeable. Therefore, if the rich utilize their fortune merely for personal entertainments by enjoying yachts, boats and jets and an extremely luxurious life standard, will they truly feel fulfilled? Take Pierre Omidyar, the eBay co-founder for instance, he uses his extra cash to fund land-conservation projects and breed white rhinos, Eastern bongos and other rare animals in Africa. The meaningful deeds he is doing make his life full of meanings. Therefore, the rich should use their money to something of great importance.

Using extra cash to reward society not only wins the rich good reputation, but also lets

their offspring grow up learning the true value of money. Such as Bill Gates, the attention his philanthropy was paid to is exceedingly far from the conspicuousness his 40,000-square-foot mansion caused. Let’s also say Mr. Berber, his family still live in an unassuming house outside Austin and his two sons drive old and used cars, and mainly fly commercial. What counts most is they have built their family charity, Glimmer of Hope. Obviously, the purpose that he wants to set a right code of value towards money is the very reason why he does like this.

In order to narrow the large gap, the rich should take great efforts to help the poor. The fundamental reason is that one should reward the society which he takes from. Furthermore, they can win good fame through philanthropy and build right values towards money for their children. So only we units, can we build a better society.
