Good afternoon everyone, 他oday I want talk about Unit 4 How do you get to school? (Go for it 8a) There are 6 parts in my teaching analyzing

Part 1 First the analysis of the textbook

1.The contents: the central topic in this unit is transportation; the main

language function is talking about how to get to different destinations.

Based on this central topic and related to the students’ daily life, there are many vivid pictures in the textbook; they do help to student understanding. And will practice the students’reading, listening and speaking skills.

2.The teaching aims

(1)the aims of the knowledge

a)Enable the students to remember the following new words and

phrases: get to, how far, bicycle, subway, bus stop, etc.

b)Get the students to be familiar with these sentence structures

A: How do you get to school? \How long dose it takes you to get to school by bus?

(2)The aims of abilities: To improve the abilities of getting

information by reading, listening and speaking.

(3)The aims of emotion

a)Arouse their interests in learning English

b)Tell them the relationship between transportation and the

environment.

listening and acquiring information

4. The teaching difficulties

a) Functional item: transportation

b) Develop their communicative ability. Act out their own dialogue. Part2 The teaching aids: some pictures,tape recorder, and the blackboard.

Part3 The analysis of teaching and learning methods

Using communicative strategies, of the students are the centre. And the students will use the task-based learning strategies to learn this lesson. Part4 The analysis of the students

The students in this grade have a strong curiosity and imitation, so in the teaching design must focus on this characteristic. Plan some activities to arouse the students’ interests of English learning.

Part 5 The design of the teaching procedure

Step1 Lead-in

Introduce the different kinds of transportations and ask the students to state their own ways.

Step2 Pre-task

Use the pictures on the blackboard to teach some new words

Question: Which way do you prefer?

Step3 While-task

Teach the sentence structures and point out some useful phrases. Let the students discuss the relationship between transportation and environment.

Step4 Post-task

Practice in pairs or groups focus on the centre topic--transportation. Step5 Homework
