2.命题的共性与原则：
纵观04-10湖南高考英语作文命题的目的与特点：
A.无城乡差别，体现公平；
B.取材通俗贴近生活（总在和谐的社会生活大背景下选一个与学生生活相关的话题：
“我”的活动，“我”的老师,“我”的同窗,我的偶像，我的课堂, “我”的活动-演讲）；
C.体裁趋向于叙事，夹叙夹议兼顾情感表达；
D.命题趋向加大开放度，让考生自由发挥；
E.写作上明确要求考生做到行文逻辑清晰、语言简洁、情感真实。

Tom is a primary school student and he enjoys drawing very much.
One day, he went to the small woods not far from town to draw from nature, taking along with a drawing board. When he got there, he found that only one tree remained. “It’s better than nothing.” He comforted himself. So he began to put up his board in order to draw it quickly. Mother looked angrily into my eyes without saying a word. I knew I broke her heart. I made big mistakes and feIt extremely ashamed of my bad behavior. A few minutes later, she had a long talk with me she said being honest and keeping one's promise are a person's essential qualities, which we should cherish deeply. Otherwise we couldn't live in this society.
It was this conversation that made me realize, the importance of honesty and faithfulness. Thanks for my mother's severe criticizing and seriousness; I come to know what I should do in the future. I am sure to develop myself into a person worth respecting and believing in.

I earnestly hope to lead a healthy and prosperous life in the future. Judging from my abilities and character, the ideal life for me would be that of a scientist, researching, lecturing, and writing books. As I am from a farming family, I particularly enjoy being close to the earth. If I could afford to live in the countryside, I would be happy. I intend to pursue simplicity in my life, so I won’t feel the need for friends. But all this must be mere talk, I am idle now. I must make a point of educating body and spirit. When we live in highly competitive society, everyone wants to be the best. It is not only a competition of physical and mental strength, but a marathon of patience, faith and perseverance. It will be a challenge, but since I have excellent teachers ,my prospects are
surely good.

Dear Tom,
I’m happy to know you have decided to do something. It’s important for us to keep healthy. Here I am willing to share my experience with you.
Sports, as we all know , can build us a strong body . So I often take part in all kinds of sports ,such as running ,swimming and playing basket ball. With enough exercise, I usually have good sleep at night and I never feel tired in the morning when I get up. The saying, I think , is true indeed that life exists in sports.
On the other hand , a good habit of personal hygiene and a balanced diet are both important to our health . I stick to having a bath every day and washing my hands before meals. I am never particular about my food and fruits ,vegetables, fish, meat, eggs, and so on, are all my favor because they won’t make me fat but give me enough energy and nutrition.
I hope my experience can bring you a little good and I am sure you will become healthier and strong soon.

Dear friends:
I am very happy to have the great honor to make a speech here. Today we have successfully finished the greatest challenge in our senior school life. Now I can say nothing but thanks to our respectable and beloved parents and teachers on this special occasion for the loving care they have shown for me, especially since I went to Senior Three. These days I have been studying hard and have made great progress against a lot of difficulties and pains. And now I can proudly tell you everything has got along well with our college entrance examination and I am sure if you, my younger schoolmates, do your studies as we have done, you are to be successful in time.
After this party, we will have to say well to our beautiful schoolyards. At the last moment, I am sure and hope our school is to become better and better and all the students graduating from here are to achieve greater success in their future.
