Warnings

This instrument conforms to DIN 57411 part 1 / VDE 041 part 1 "protective measures for electronic measuring instruments" and has left the factory in faultless condition. To maintain this condition and to guarantee harmless operation of the instrument, the user has to observe all warnings and directives of the manual.

Interruption of the protective grounding line or loosening the ground connection inside or outside the instrument may lead to dangerous situations. Disconnecting the ground is prohibited.

Disconnect power whenever electronic service is required. Care should be taken when opening or removing parts of the instrument; connectors may be under tension. Service should be performed by authorized personnel only.

If proper operation is not possible any more, the instrument has to be disconnected from all power lines and measures should be taken to prevent inadvertent operation.

Safe operation is not possible

- if the instrument has been visibly damaged during shipping or installation

- if the instrument does not function

- after extended storage in unfavorable surroundings.

All optionally connected instruments must be approved by IEC 950 / EN 60950 or listed by UL 1950 or UL 478

Attention:

The instrument can not work without reagents. Reagents can be bought at Swan respectively your dealer.

Only staff, who knows the procedure and obeys the necessary safety accommodations (handling of acid respectively poison), is allowed to mix the reagents.

Installation Checklist

Check if the instrument's specifications conform to your AC power ratings!

Do not turn on power until instructed to do so in chapter 2.7!

On site requirements (2.1):

Select a site for the instrument, which allows for easy access and opening of the instrument's front door. The analyzer site must permit connections to:

- AC power outlet with ground connection and at least 85 VA.

- Sample line (tube 4x6 mm) with at least 10 ml/min and 0.3 - 3 bar (4 - 43 psi) each channel.

- Waste line (tube 14x20 mm (1/2")) with atmospheric drain, 2 for 4-channel instrument).

Installation (2.4):

- Mount the instrument in vertical position.

- Connect the sample, safety channel, and waste line.

Electrical Connections (2.5)

- Connect all external devices, like limit switches, current loops and printer.

- Connect power cord; do not switch on power.

Pump tubes (2.6)

-Install the pressure bar pressing the tubes to the pump body.

Sample flow (2.7)

-Check if sample is available at all sample lines (channels) and the tubes have been flushed (no dirt in the sample lines).

-Open sample regulating valve / regulating valves. Adjust the sample flow. The water of each channel has to overflow continuously into the waste.

Standard (2.7)

-Rinse the standard bottle well with the best water quality available (water with next to no silica). -Prepare the silica standard according to your needs, if possible directly in the standard bottle.

-Install the bottle.

Reagent (2.7)

-Mix the reagents in the marked containers according to the description.

-Put the reagent filters on the end of the reagent tubes.

-Put the tubes into the reagent containers according to the colour coding.

blue: molybdate

red: sulfuric acid

colourless: oxalic acid

black: reducing agent (ammonium ferrous sulfate)

Power on (2.7)

-Turn on power.

-The tubes are filled automatically while the reaction tubes and photometer are heated up to operation temperature.

Instrument Set-up (4 & 5)

-Program all parameters for external devices (interfaces, printer, recorders, and options).

-Program all parameters for instrument operation (autocal, limits, printout, and logger).

1.1 INTRODUCTION

Water quality guidelines for power and demineralizer plants have become more demanding over the years. Consequently, operators require more sensitive, sophisticated analyzers to meet these requirements.

Unique features in 's COPRA Silica were specially designed to accommodate current analytical instrumentation requirements, formulated by regulatory institutions, equipment manufacturers, and end users.

1.2 Principle of Operation

1.2.1 Measuring Principle

The determination of silica is done by the photometric analysis of molybdate blue at 815 nm (Lit.: Lange, Standard methods etc.)

Silica and ortho-phosphates react at low pH with ammonium molybdate to the yellow coloured molybdosilic acid respectively molybdophosphoric acid. The molybdophosphoric acid is destroyed with oxalic acid before the molybdosilic acid is reduced with iron-(II)-ammonium-sulfate to the heteropoly-blue complex.

Especially the reaction speed of the first reaction step to the molybdosilic acid is relatively slow. It is the most time consuming part of the whole reaction. As the reaction speed increases with increasing temperature, it is time saving to heat up the sample. The COPRA Silica therefore uses a thermostatisated reaction chamber with the constant temperature of 45 °C.

At 45 °C the first reaction needs only 2 minutes to complete. The following reactions need only

1 minute. 30 seconds are needed to heat up the sample. Therefore the complete reaction time is next to 5 minutes.

The temperature of the photometer is also kept constant at 45 °C to avoid striae because of differences in temperature and to minimise the dependence on temperature of the photo optic elements.

1.2.2 Operation

The sample is presented to a constant head unit. A regulating valve for each channel allows to adjust the sample stream, that the sample always overflows into the waste.

The channels are assigned as follows:

Channel 1: sample connection 1 identification on display: Ch1

Channel 2: sample connection 2 identification on display: Ch2

Channel 3: sample connection 3 identification on display: Ch3

Channel 4: sample connection 4 identification on display: Ch4

Channel 5: standard resp. grab sample identification on display: Ch5

Channel 6: safety channel identification on display: Ch6

If you have a two channel instrument, channel 3 and 4 do not appear in the display. The number of channels used in the application can be set by keypad.

With the channel selection valve one of the sample channels, or the standard, or the safety channel is chosen. The sample of the chosen channel is transported through the system by the sample pump.

After the pump the sample is transported into the thermostatisated reaction chamber. This is a teflon tube, wrapped around a heating device, and 4 inlets to dose the reagents. The turning speed of the sample pump determines the sample flow through the reaction chamber. The speed of the sample pump has been set in the factory and makes sure that there is enough time for a complete chemical reaction.

In the reaction chamber the sample is preheated to 45°C, eliminating temperature deviations of the sample. In the vortex mixer the molybdate and the sulphuric acid are added. The colour of the sample changes within 2 minutes to light-yellow.

Afterwards the oxalic acid is added. The yellow colour of the molybdophosphoric acid is destroyed.

At last the reducing agent (ammonium ferrous sulfate) is added. The colour of the sample turns to blue. As silica is only present in trace amounts, the blue colour can not be seen with the eye. Afterwards the coloured sample flows into the also thermostatisated photometer and fills it completely. The aeration tube on the top of the photometer guarantees that the photometer is filled bubble-free. Now the intensity of the colour is measured at 815 nm. The concentration of silica is calculated by the microprocessor using the calibration curve.

As the level of the sample in the photometer increases, the photometer is emptied spontaneously by a siphon tube.

This cycle is repeated until 3 valid values are measured.

Afterwards the next sample channel is chosen.

Channel 1: = sample 1

The instrument switches to this channel:

- if the instrument is rinsing (e.g. at start-up of the instrument). During rinsing no molybdate is added it flows directly into the waste.

- to fill the tubes at start-up

Channel 5: = standard or grab sample

This channel is only sampled:

- during the automatic calibration

- if grab sample has been confirmed (user mode: grab sample)

Channel 6: = safety channel

We recommend to use the safety channel (programming in set-up mode).

If used, the instrument switches to this channel if the sample flow fails at all sample channels and during standby (remote control by contacts 14 to 16). At standby, no molybdate is added. It flows directly into the waste.

If not used, the instrument switches to channel 5 (standard) if the sample flow fails at all sample channels and during standby (remote control by contacts 14 to 16).

Calibration

During the calibration procedures the principal measuring method is the same.

Zero:

For the zero point, sample 1 and all reagents, except molybdate, are presented to the photometer. Therefore no blue colour is formed.

The zero point compensates for sample colour and turbidity.

Gain:

For the gain, the standard solution instead of the sample and all reagents are presented to the photometer. A normal measurement is done.

Blank:

If the anion exchanger (option) has been installed, a blank test can be done. The sample passes the strong basic anion exchanger before the reagents are added. The anion exchanger strips the sample of all silica.

The blank is the background (silica concentration in the reagents and in the water the reagents have been mixed with).

Safety:

- surveillance of the reagent addition

- surveillance of the sample flow

- surveillance of the thermostatisation of the sample and the photometer

- safety channel, channel 6: If the sample fails at all connected channels, the instrument switches to the safety channel. Remaining of the concentrated reagent in the tubes is prevented by this.

- surveillance of the pump function

- warning if the photometer is polluted

- warning if the calibration is wrong

- when changing the tubes: emptying of the reagent tubes possible. No acid spills out of the tubes when loosening the connections of the tubes.

Additional:

- Grab sample function, channel 5: the instrument can measure a sample that has been collected manually

- Blank with optional anion exchanger available

- Filling, rinsing, and emptying of the tubes at a higher pump speeds (less time necessary).

6.2 更换泵管 图6.1蠕动泵和光度计模块 6.2.1 拆卸泵管 步骤 1:排空系统: 将试剂管从试剂桶中取出,并且把它们放入一个空的不小于500 ml 的容器里! 在维护程序中使用排空系统(用户模式(USER),系统程序(SYSTEM):排空系统)排空光度计和反应管。

步骤2: 从混合器(mixing block)上取下试剂管2-4和样水管。 从零点阀(zero point valve)上取下试剂管1 图6.2 步骤3: 把压力棒(pressure bar)旋转90度,取下; 把压力板(pressure plates)向上旋转。 图6.3 步骤4: 向下拉左侧的泵管手柄,并取下泵管。 注意:不要直接拉泵管

仿生荷叶材料 1120125123 谢先格 20世纪70年代,波恩大学的植物学家巴特洛特在研究植物叶子表面时发现,光滑的叶子表面有灰尘,要先清洗才能在显微镜下观察,而莲叶等可以防水的叶子表面却总是干干净净。他们发现,莲叶表面的特殊结构有自我清洁功能。莲花出污泥而不染,自古以来就被人们认为是纯洁的象征,所以这一自我清洁功能又被称为“荷叶效应”。 一、基本概念及原理 荷叶的基本化学成分是叶绿素、纤维素、淀粉等多糖类的碳水化合物,有丰富的羟基OH-、氨基NH-等极性基团,在自然环境中应该很容易吸附水分或污渍。但荷叶叶面却呈现具有极强的拒水性,洒在叶面上的水会自动聚集成水珠,水珠的滚动把落在叶面上的尘土污泥粘吸滚出叶面,使叶面始终保持干净,这就是著名的"荷叶自洁效应"。 通过扫描电子显微镜图像,可以清晰地看到,在荷叶叶面上存在着非常复杂的多重纳米和微米级的超微结构。荷叶叶面上布满着一个挨一个隆起的“小山包”(每两个小山包之间的距离约为20-40μm)在山包上面长满了绒毛,在山包顶又长出了一个个馒头状的“碉堡”凸顶。整个表面被微小的蜡晶所覆盖(大约200nm-2μm)。 因此,在“山包”间的凹陷部份充满着空气,这样就在紧贴叶面上形成一层极薄、只有纳米级厚的空气层。这就使得在尺寸上远大于这种结构的灰尘、雨水等降落在叶面上后,隔着一层极薄的空气,只能同叶面上“山包”的凸顶形成几

HW 2341硅表简易维护手册 1、启动和操作前首先要确认: 1号、2号、3号试剂瓶都是满的,并安装、连接好。 200ppb硅标液瓶内的标准液是满的,并安装、连接好。 排放口和水样入口已经连接好。检查在溢流槽中的样水,调整样水流量,使手指放在不锈钢排水管线顶端的洞口上时有水排出。 各管内充满液体,并且所有的管内没有附着的气泡。 2、可通过下面的菜单操作完成试剂的填充: (1)进入service,输入第一级密(1111) (2)在触摸屏上按下DISPLAY键,然按下MANUAL STEP键(3)选择SAMPLE功能键保持20秒 (4)选择ADD REAG(1.2.3)键每个保持40秒,依次灌充三个试剂管路,可观察加药状态 (5)选择DRAIN功能键保持5秒,排污阀吸合排污。
