6.0 Rotary Machinery Equipment Installation Procedures

1. General

The procedure covers the general requirement for the installation of compressor and other

rotary machinery equipment. In general, the rotating equipment installation shall be in

accordance with the relative specification. Any other special requirements for the

installation specified in the manufacture instructions shall be strictly complied.

Regarding the rotary equipment and machinery installation and mounting for the Vietnam

DQR Project, the main rotary machinery includes pumps, blowers, boilers,

compressors, Agitators,and other machines.

2. Preparation Work

2.1 Preparation work of technical document

?Equipment assembly drawings and installation drawings of the whole package, drawings for important components, installation, operation and maintenance instruction

shall be provided by TPC.

?Relevant qualification certificate, pre-assembly record, material certification of main parts and components, and certificates of accessories, auxiliary equipment, piping and

fittings supplied with package will be provided by TPC.

?Packing list for compressor package will be provided by TPC.

?Packing list for boilers package will be provided by TPC.

2.2 Equipment Receiving and Acceptance

Prior to installation of components of compressor/boilers package, equipment and

materials delivered to site shall be checked and accepted for quantity and quality

against the packing list of compressor/boilers package. In case any damage or

shortage of the components should be recorded and reported to the supervisor

immediately.

2.3 Foundation Acceptance and Preparation

?On the foundation handed-over by civil contractor, longitudinal and transverse axial lines, reference point of elevation, various embedded pieces, centerlines of reserved

holes and anchor bolt holes shall be clearly marked. Intermediate hand-over certificate

shall be submitted, on which the record of elevation, center location, and sizes of other

parts shall be indicated.

?Foundation will be visually inspected. Defects of cracks, honeycombing, voids, re-bar exposing, etc. will not be allowed.

?Referring to foundation drawing and technical document, dimension and location of coordinate shall be re-measured and re-checked, the allowable tolerance shall meet

requirements listed in the attached table (If there is otherwise stated in the drawing or

other specification, requirements specified in the construction drawings will be

followed):

?After re-checking and accepting of foundation, foundation surface to receive secondary grouting shall be roughened properly with little holes not less than 10mm deep, and for

each square meter, 3 ~ 5 such holes will be required for good adhesion. Surface shall

be free of loose layer, oil, grease or other foreign object.

?Crushed stone, soil, mud, water and other objects in the bolt hole shall be thoroughly cleaned.

3. Installation of Compressor Package

Positioning and Initial Alignment

?Compressor Package will be installed with no-liner installation methods, and grouted by civil subcontractor

?Compressor skid will be lifted to position by heavy lifting subcontractor

?Position the skid (with equipment) onto the foundation in a slow way, and fix it with adjusting bolts and anchor bolts. Then level the skid with adjusting bolts to guarantee

the clearance between skid and foundation meeting design requirement.

?The skid will be leveled by adjusting bolts from both longitudinal and transverse direction. With the assistance of level instrument, adjust the adjusting bolts uniformly

to make them bear uniform load.

?Dial indicator will be used for align the concentricity of each equipment at the coupling position.

?After primary alignment and leveling of skid, initial grouting of anchor bolt holes may be performed by civil subcontractor.

?After setting of mortar, plug rule will be adopted to check the clearance of fixing surface. If plug rule is not able to enter, it shows that equipment is very stable, or the

adjusting bolts and anchor bolts will be adjusted for necessary calibration.

4. Auxiliary Equipment Installation

4.1 After unpacking of auxiliary equipment, visual inspection and relevant check will be

performed as follows:

?Re-check the outer dimension, orientation of nozzles against drawings and relevant technical requirements. And interconnecting piping must be clean and free of blocking.

?Check if there are any mechanical damage or shortage of parts caused during transportation, and record shall be kept.

?Check the quantity of equipment, components and parts against packing list provided by manufacturer, record any damage and shortage.

4.2 Equipment needing to be degreased shall be satisfactorily degreased, and in compliance

with relevant requirements stated in specification.

4.3 Installation of auxiliary lube oil piping and re-oil piping

Prior to installation of oil piping system, piping inside shall be cleaned with cleaned and dried cloth and blown with compressed air, then installation work may be done. If pickling and passivation of piping is required, pickling, neutralizing and passivation operation shall be done in accordance with requirements stated in specification.

4.4 Intercooler shall be washed clean and inspected and be hydrostatically tested in

accordance with design requirements. After passing hydrostatic test, intercooler will be

purged with compressed air and then assembled immediately and installed on the

correct position of foundation.

4.5 After completing installation of equipment, final alignment shall be performed. The

allowable deviation of equipment center line will be ±5 mm and allowable deviation of

elevation be ±5 mm. If the equipment is connected with other machinery, the allowable

deviation of equipment center line will be ±3 mm and allowable deviation of elevation be

±5 mm.

4.6 Allowable deviation for installation elevation of horizontal equipment and perpendicularity

of vertical equipment shall not be over 1/1000.

5. Final Alignment of Compressor Package

5.1 Alignment of the Package

?Aligning sequence (take compressor as alignment reference):

?Center line of the package shall be on the same line of center line of foundation, the allowable deviation will be within 3mm.

?The package will be leveled by precise level instrument. During leveling, measurement shall be made at the points designated by manufacturer. Installation elevation and

orientation, longitudinal/transverse levelness shall satisfy requirements stated in

relevant codes and standards provided by TPC. Or the package shall be aligned

according to following requirements:

Deviation of installation elevation of the reference equipment shall not be over 3mm, and the tolerance of center line be within 3mm.

For allowable tolerance of longitudinal level, it will be 0.02 ~ 0.05 mm/m for reference parts of the reference equipment when measured at the main axis. Other

machinery/equipment shall meet alignment requirements of couplings.

For allowable tolerance of transverse level, it will be within 0.10mm/m when measured at central-dividing surface of machine housing. For the same machinery,

level at the correspondent points shall be almost the same.

5.2 Cold Alignment of Package

To assure the automatic alignment during equipment running, cold alignment shall be preformed in strict accordance with codes and standards specified by TPC.

6. Alignment of Coupling

?During installation of couplings, clearance between the outer surfaces of two toothed shaft end shall be guaranteed in compliance with relevant codes and standards

specified by TPC.

?Couplings shall be precisely aligned according to the alignment sketch or cold alignment data provided by manufacturer.

?After installation of couplings, when mounting casing of coupling, position of oil piping shall be properly aligned to make the nozzle facing tooth of couplings in order to assure

the unblocking of oil piping.

7. Interconnecting Piping Installation

?Process piping connected to equipment proper shall be installed in accordance with relevant requirements specified by manufacturer.

?All interconnecting piping will be supplied fully fabricated and only requiring bolting to equipment on site. Piping shall be properly sloped toward oil returning direction with a

gradient of 5/1000. If there are otherwise required in technical document, these

requirements shall be followed.

?Inside of oil piping system shall be kept clean. Prior to installation, clean and oil-less compressed air will be deployed for blowing. C.S. oil piping should be pickled properly.

?All the piping connected to equipment shall not be exposed to any undue stress or force. For the main piping connected with the package, meters shall be positioned on

the coupling for monitoring when finally connecting piping to equipment.

8. Oil Circulating

8.1 Flushing of Oil Piping System

?Prior to flushing, all the equipment and piping included in the oil piping system shall be thoroughly inspected and cleaned. And gold screen of 120 gage or oil filter shall be

installed when filling flushing oil into oil reservoir.

?Disconnect all piping connected with bearing and shaft seal, and temporary piping spools will be added to make a complete loop. Valves on the piping will be open or

closed according to flushing diagram.

?To prevent bearing and gear from damaging during test-run, and to guarantee stable and lasting running of them, wound filter of 150 gage and fine screen of 120 gage shall be

installed at the inlet of bearing box and gear box to prevent any soil particles of 0.12mm

or larger from entering.

?After oil pump passing the on-load test-run, oil system may be flushed with flushing oil of 40 ~ 75o C in an alternate way according to the specified temperature and time.

?It is required that after four-hour flushing, soft particles found on the screen of 180 ~ 200 gage installed at each inlet of lube oil is not more than 2 numbers per square meter and

very little fabric can be found. Then oil-flushing work is successfully finished.

?When oil flushing work is accepted, flushing oil in the system shall be drained off, oil reservoir, filter, oil tank at high level, bearing and seal casing shall be thoroughly

cleaned again. The system piping at each position shall be restored.

8.2 Oil Circulation

?Fill the filtered and qualified operation oil into oil reservoir, assemble bearing, float ring seal and seal ring according to relevant requirements, and set up metallic screen at

each oil inlet, then start oil circulating based on the normal diagram.

?After twenty-four (24) – hour circulating, difference of pressure measured in front of filter and pressure measured behind filter shall not be increased over 0.01 ~0.015mpa.

9. Test Run

?Test run shall be performed with the witness of TPC’s representative and personnel of TPC.

?Before test run, interconnecting piping of the compressor package shall be blown with air, checked again, then connected to equipment.

?Prior to starting up compressor, fixing of various components, unblocking of piping system and sensitiveness of control system shall be thoroughly inspected and

confirmed. And shaft turning gear can be turned freely without any retardation.

?No-load and air-load test run for compressor shall be carried out in accordance with code, specification and requirements specified by TPC. All components in the system

shall be checked and confirmed, and records shall be filled.

?After finishing air-load test run, oil filter shall be cleaned and lube oils be changed as specified.

10. Installation of Pump & Other Rotary Equipment

Beside the compressor/boiler package, other rotary machines and equipment, such as pump, blower, agitator, etc., will be installed in the project. The main installation methods are as follows:

?For pump installation, alignment of axle centers between driving machine (motor or turbine) and pump is of essential importance. When connecting driving machine to

pump, axial line of pump shall be taken as reference for alignment; when there is

intermediate equipment installed between driving machine and pump, axial line of

intermediate equipment shall be taken as reference for alignment. Generally, three (3)

gauges will be adopted for alignment at the same time.

?In general, liner and shims will be used for installation. And according to the type of base plate, flat liner and shims, wedge or small jacks will be used to facilitate the

adjustment.

?Non-shrinkage cement mortar will be used for grouting work. Foundation of pump and machines will be grouted in two times. After initial alignment, primary grouting will done

for anchor bolt holes. When the mortar reaches certain strength, precise alignment will

be performed, then secondary grouting work may be carried out.

?The parallelism and concentricity between flanges of piping to be connected with pump and inlet/outlet flanges of pump shall meet requirements stated in relevant

specification. And during connection, no undue stress will be imposed on pump body.

After final alignment, dial indicator will be applied when connecting piping flange to

pump flange.

?Test run of pump will be performed after successful test-run of each auxiliary equipment.

?Test run of pump shall be done with working medium. Medium used for test run or any alternative medium shall comply with design requirements.

?For installation of agitator, technical specifications and codes supplied by TPC shall be strictly followed, especially the agitator of reactor, perpendicularity requirement of its

center axle is very strict, so after positioning of reactor, not only the perpendicularity of

housing shall be carefully measured, but also level of top flange (connected with

agitator flange) shall be precisely adjusted, to assure the perpendicularity of center axle

of agitator.

?Blade of agitator shall be fastened with torque wrench. For agitator cladded with titanium material, when installing internals, rubber sheet shall be applied on the inner

wall to avoid contamination of titanium surface.

?And activities relevant to tolerances for agitator horizontal/vertical alignment shall be performed according to the technical specifications provided by TPC. Any misalignment

of relevant vessels must by adjusted accordingly.

?For installation of dryer, suitable gradient shall be guaranteed in compliance with requirements specified in Vendor’s technical document. First base plate shall be

installed and aligned to certain gradient, then cylindrical shell will be installed and

bearings and outlet screw conveyor will be inspected and adjusted, and then expansion

joint, flexible coupling, seal tank and outlet hopper will be installed, finally, motor and

reducer will be installed. During installation, axial center of motor shall be precisely

aligned,

11. Safety Precautions for Equipment Installation

?All the personnel involved in equipment installation must familiarize themselves with relevant technical document, code and standards.

?All personnel entering construction site shall comply with TPC’s regulations and instructions.

?All personnel entering construction site shall wear safety helmet, and bear safety belt/harness when working at heights.

?Hot work permit shall be obtained prior to starting hot work.

?Prior consent shall be obtained before operating and using crane of the plant, and operator must have operation certificate. Operator not having any certificate is strictly

forbidden to operate the crane.

?During hoisting operation, it is strictly prohibited to bear heavy load on crane beam where there is not the load-bearing location. And visible marks shall be indicated on

such location.

?When hoisting equipment, specific personnel shall be assigned for giving signal and instruction. Proper protection shall be taken at the contacting surface of steel wire and

equipment.

?Fire fighting facilities of sufficient quantities shall be available at site and placed at designed location with suitable signs.

?Workers performing degreasing work with carbon tetra-jgcide shall be equipped with respirator, rubber gloves, and other PPE.

?Poisonous and harmful material and product shall be kept and issued by specific person, and stored at designated place.

1、工程概况 大庆林源地区原油商业储备库工程供油泵房内共有阀门28台,泵类设备4台,原油过滤器4台,污油箱1台,阀组间共有阀门48台,新建罐区共有阀门24台,阀组间北共有阀门9台,老站区共有阀门11台。由于上述设备到货较晚,安装时阀组间去年已经施工完成,泵房主体也已经全部施工完成,管区内阀门安装正直雨季施工,给设备安装就位造成很大难度,加上阀组间、泵类设备等工艺精度要求高,为确保施工质量,进一步提高施工水平,确保施工进度,特编此措施以便指导现场施工。该工程建设单位是中国石油管道公司管道工程第一项目经理部。设计单位是中国石油天然气管道工程有限公司。监理单位是大庆石油工程监理有限公司。工程开工日期:2009年3月15日,完工日期:2009年9月10日。 2、编制依据 2.1《机械设备安装工程施工及验收通用规范》GB50231-98 2.2《压缩机、风机、泵安装工程施工及验收规范》GB50275-98 2.3《化工机器安装工程施工及验收规范》(化工用泵)HGJ207-83 2.4 大庆林源地区原油商业储备库工程工艺设备及管网安装施工合同; 2.5 设计施工图纸; 2.6 中国石油天然气第一建公司《质量管理手册》及质量体系程序文件 2.7 中国石油天然气第一建公司承建场站工程以往的施工技术经验 2.8 有关产品说明书和技术标准。

4、施工前的准备 4.1技术资料准备 4.1.1泵、阀门,过滤器等设备施工前应具有下列技术资料: 1)出厂合格证或质量证明书 2)制造厂提供的有关重要零件和部件的制造、装配等质量检验证书及机器的试运记录,以及安装使用说明书,总装配图,装箱单等其他技术文件。 4.1.2施工图纸经汇审合格,并对施工人员进行完技术交底。 4.2 泵、阀门和过滤器开箱检验与管理 4.2.1泵、阀门、过滤器等设备开箱检验在建设单位、监理单位和施工单位有关人员的参与下按下列项目进行检查。 ●泵、阀门、过滤器的名称、型号、规格、件数、并作出记录。 ●泵、阀门、过滤器随机技术资料及专用工具是否齐全。 ●对泵、阀门、过滤器进行外观检查,并核实随机配件的品种、规格、数量。 4.2.2 检验后由验收各方在检验记录签字确认。 4.2.3凡与泵、阀门、过滤器配套的工艺、电气、仪表等设备及配件,由各专业人员
