Coiled Tubing Won the First Battle on Semi-submersibles

Today, November 25, 2010, 17 minutes agoFrom December 8 to 16, 2009, three crews of acidization, coiled tubing and nitrogen from the Oilfield Production & Completion Stimulation Center performed production test acidization and gas-lift flowback on the exploration well Lishui 36-2-1.

The Center is quite experienced in production test acidization and coiled tubing flowback. However, coiled tubing equipment and lifting devices are initially utilized on submersible drillships. For this, Xie Congjian, a technical expert and senior engineer in coiled tubing, was specially invited for some instructions. Difficulties in operation and great influences of platform heaving and tides have exceedingly decreased the accuracy of connecting coiled tubing and wellhead device, especially under the circumstances of an 8-9-level gust while rigging up surface equipment for the second time. Sticking to the spirit of continuous fighting and hardship fearlessness, our personnel managed to safely rig up and connect all equipments only in 14 hours under the instruction of Xie Congjian, approximately 10 hours shorter than the initial rigging-up.
