改变过去教学中教师过分依赖教材,过于强调接受学习,死记硬背,机械训练的现象。 笔者根据模块七教材中的教学实践,以以下案例探讨如何对教材进行整合利用。 一、教学内容的调整和组合。 根据学生的认知特点、心理特点和教学的实际情况,教师可对教材内容的顺序进行适当的调整,使其符合学生的兴趣和能力发展,以引导学生更有效地学习。 1. 单元之间的调整:单元之间的调整主要是根据学生的认知特点,对单元的安排进行重新调整,使之更有利于学生知识的掌握。 在模块七 unit1 Reading :TV and audio devices: a review中,reading strategy 的内容是understanding subtitles。旨在让学生通过对副标题的理解来快速把握文章主旨。本单元的文章结构根据副标题分别是:early history of TV; the modern age: cable TV, satellite TV , digital TV…;early history of audio devices; tape recorders and players; sound goes digital. 学生可以根据副标题轻松地划出文章结构,理解文章主旨。笔者在设计教学过程中,把模块七的P19,P34,P46, P62 页的文章提出来,让学生根据副标题猜测文章的主旨。这些页上的标题和副标题分别是: P19 Title:Two life-saving medicines; Subtitles: ASPIRIN , PENICILIN. P34 Title:The effects of the internet on our lives; Subtitles: The internet has positive effects on our lives The internet has negative effects on our lives P46 Title: research on the internet Subtitles: step one: choosing a topic (research engines, subject directories); step two: how to search(1,2,3); step three: using your information P 62 Title: traffic accident and road safety Subtitles: drivers not paying attention; drivers being impatient;

Book 3 Unit 1 Festivals around the world B3U1P1-3 FESTIV ALS AND CELEBRATIONS Ancient Festivals Festivals and celebrations of all kinds are held everywhere. The most ancient festivals would celebrate the end of the cold weather, planting in spring and harvest in autumn. Other celebrations were held when hunters could catch animals. They would starve if food was difficult to find, so they celebrated when they had food. They lit fires and made music because they thought these festivals would bring a year of plenty. Festivals of the Dead Some festivals are held to honour the dead, or satisfy and please the ancestors, who could return either to help or to do harm. In Japan the festival is called Obon, when people should go to clean the graves and light incense in memory of their ancestors. They light lamps and play music because they think that this will lead the ancestors back to earth. In Mexico they have the Day of the Dead in early November. On this important feast day, people might eat food in shape of skulls, and cakes with “bones” on them. They offer food, flowers and gifts to the dead. The festival of Halloween had its origin as an event in memory of the dead. It is now a children’s festival, when they can go to their neighbours’ homes and ask for sweets. They dress up and try to frighten people. If they are not given anything, the children might play a trick. Festivals to Honour People Festivals can be held as an honour to famous people or to the gods. One of these is the Dragon Boat Festival in China, which honours the famous ancient poet, Qu Yuan. Another is Columbus Day in the USA, in memory of the arrival of Christopher Columbus in America. In India there is a national festival on October 2 to honour Mahatma Gandhi, the leader who helped gain India’s independence from Britain. Harvest Festivals Harvest and Thanksgiving festivals can be very happy events. People are grateful because their food is gathered for the winter ,and because a season of agricultural work is over. In European countries it is the custom to decorate churches and town halls with flowers and fruit, and people get together to have meals. Some people might win awards for their animals, flowers, fruits and vegetables, like the biggest watermelon or the most handsome rooster. In China and Japan there are mid-autumn festivals, when people admire the moon and give gift of mooncakes. Spring Festivals The most energetic and important festivals are the ones that look forward to the end of winter and to the coming of spring. At the Spring Festival in China, people eat dumplings, fish and meat, and may give children lucky money in the red paper. There are dragon dances and carnivals, and families celebrate the lunar New Year together. In some Western countries there are very exciting carnivals, which take place forty days before Easter, usually in February. They might include parades, dancing in the streets day and night, loud music and colourful clothing of all kinds. Easter is an important religious and social festival in Christian countries. It celebrates the return of Jesus for Christians and it also celebrates the coming of spring. In Japan, the Cherry Blossom Festival happens a little later. The country is covered with cherry tree flowers so that it looks as though it might be covered with pink snow. People love to get together to eat, drink and have fun with each others. Festivals let us enjoy life, be proud of our customs and forget our daily life for a little while.

Do you know when the speaker visited the cities? Did this happen recently? My First Day at Senior High,学生从初中到高中的转变有个适应过程,新鲜、激动但又有些不知所措,而这篇文章对这种心态进行了描述,使学生倍感亲切自然。 Module 5 Reading and Vocabulary (Passage A )(P44),

教材一律按单元进行设计和编写,每册书共有6个新授单元、2个复习单元,每个新授单元又分为“A、B、Story time”三个板块,“A、B”板块主要有“Let’s learn、 Let’s talk、 Read and spell 或Let’s check”等主要模块。PEP小

It includes airfare ($225), hotel ($170), dining out ($116) and dressing up ($95) and the gift. If you have weddings to attend this year, here are some tips for you to avoid breaking the bank. 1. Book flights in advance The moment you decide to attend a wedding is the time to check flight prices at the best time. Plane fares are higher in the summer, especially in July and August. Booking in advance will save you money, as will watch for sales on lower-cost carriers like JetBlue and Frontier. You can check Google Flights for a calendar of prices showing the cheapest days to fly from apps like Hopper to get real-time alerts when a fare is at its lowest price point. 2. Don't blow your budget on the gift If you've got the money, an expensive gift is lovely. But there's no need to take out loans to prove your love for the happy couple. Skip an expensive necklace by giving (an appropriate amount of) cash instead. To save on the gift, consider making one: A photo album or scrapbook of memories with the bride and groom shows how much you care. You could also share the gift with other guest(s) or even make gifts with DIY ideas by yourself to save money. 3. Use old dresses and suits You don't always have to be on a new dress for a wedding. While men have the option of repeating their suits, women are more likely to spend money on new clothes for the special occasion. But before you take out your wallet, consider reinventing something already in your

So many thousand s of terrified people died every time there was an outbreak. John Snow wanted t o face the challenge and solve this problem. The second suggested that people absorbed this disease into their bodies with their meals. From the stomach the disease quickly attacked the body and soon the affected person die d. John Snow suspected that the second theory was correct but he needed eviden ce. So when another outbreak hit London in 1854, he was ready to begin his enqu iry. As the disease spread quickly through poor neighbourhoods, he began to gat her information. In two particular streets, the cholera outbreak was so severe that more than 500 people died in ten days. He was determined to find out why. First he marked on a map the exact places where all the dead people had liv ed. This gave him a valuable clue about the cause of the disease. Many of the d eaths were near the water pump in Broad Street (especially numbers 16, 37, 38 a nd 40). He also noticed that some houses (such as 20 and 21 Broad Street and 8 and 9 Cambridge Street) had had no deaths. He had not foreseen this, so he made further investigations. He discovered that these people worked in the pub at 7 Cambridge Street. They had been given free beer and so had not drunk the water from the pump. It seemed that the water was to blame. Next, John Snow looked into the source of the water for these two streets. He found that it came from the river polluted by the dirty water from London. H e immediately told the astonished people in Broad Street to remove the handle f rom the pump so that it could not be used. Soon afterwards the disease slowed d own. He had shown that cholera was spread by germs and not in a cloud of gas. In another part of London, he found supporting evidence from two other deat hs that were linked to the Broad Street outbreak. A woman, who had moved away f rom Broad Street, liked the water from the pump so much that she had it deliver ed to her house every day. Both she and her daughter died of cholera after drin king the water. With this extra evidence John Snow was able to announce with ce rtainty that polluted water carried the virus.

Friendship, English around the world, Travel journal ,Earthquake, Nelson Mandela, Cultural Relics, The Olympic Games, Computers, Wildlife protection ,Music. 例如:模块1 第五单元在Warming up 中就有这样的问题“What are the qualities you should find in a great person?”在 Pre-reading 中又有“Which of them are great men and which are just important men ?”
