INTERNATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

CREDENTIALS BY COUNTRY

Individuals applying to post-secondary programs are evaluated for admission based on the completion of education at a minimum of senior secondary/high school level. Applicants that have completed this level of education, in another country, must have graduated with the appropriate high school documents and credentials. The documents also must present relevant and appropriate academic coursework that can be considered equivalent to the coursework required for admission (e.g. English, Math, Biology, etc).

Below are the documents that are required, from specific countries, to conduct a proper admissions evaluation of senior secondary/high school education that an individual has completed. Other documents, other than the minimum requirement listed below, may be insufficient to be evaluated for admission to career programs at NorQuest College and therefore not accepted.

The official documents must be submitted directly to NorQuest College, by the issuing institution, to protect and validate the authenticity of the credentials. NorQuest does NOT accept photocopies, scanned or emailed documents. The documents must also be accompanied by a certified English language translation if they are written in a language other than English.

Additionally, in countries where final school leaving results are supported by an examination process through an external examination board (e.g. West African Examination Council (WAEC), National Examinations Council (NECO), general certificates of education at the O(Ordinary) or A (Advanced) level, school leaving examinations, etc.), the official examination certificates must be submitted, directly from the examination board, for evaluation. Submitting only high school transcripts/statement of grades is not sufficient. NorQuest will also NOT accept the examination board results being reported and submitted by the high school attended. The official certificates, direct from the examination board, are required.

Credentials may be subject to change, but changes must be verified directly by the institution.

Additional Notes:

*Zaire as a country name no longer exists. Was changed in August 1998 to Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)

**Countries that follow the British system, or a similar system, that write General Certificate of Education examinations at the Ordinary (O) and Advanced (A) levels; the subjects required for admission must be at the ‘A’ level to be considered equivalent t o the academic stream (e.g. English 30-1, Math 30-1, Biology 30, Chemistry 30, etc.). Subjects, at just an “O” level, are considered equivalent to the non-academic stream (e.g. English 30-2, Math 30-2).
