STEP 1.Revision

Dance together while singing the song Hands up, hands down

STEP 2. Lead –in

After singing the song, I’ll ask ss to sit down. “Sit down , please.”’(write down this sentence on the blackboard ).

Then ask them to stand up. “ Stand up, please.” Then “Put up your hands”, “Put down”. “Be quiet, please” and so on.(write down these sentences on the blackboard ). Then let ss to read the sentences above together.

“This is our new lesson Imperative Sentence.”

(Write on the blackboard.) Then ask ss “Do you know what the Imperative Sentence is ’ and show the answer on the PPT.

Step 3. A Guessing Game

Show some with pictures on PPT to ss, and let them try to gue ss out the meanings( using Imperative Sentences.)

1.Turn left.

2.Turn right.

3.Be quiet, please.

4.Keep off the grass.

5.Let me help you.

6.Don’t smoke. ( No smoking.)

7.Don’t park your car.

8.Don’t eat here.

9.Don’t pick the flowers.

10.Don’t sleep in class.

Then ask the ss to read the sentences together, and try to draw a conclusion of the usage of imperative sentence.

祈使句用法口诀:

?祈使句,无主语,只要动词就可以;

?表示请求或命令,加上please表客气;

?如果变成否定句,Don’t开头是旋律;

?N O talking !是警示,祈使用法要牢记!

Step4.Practice

Group work

This part will be finished by 2 or 3 students together. They can use the sentences given on PPT.

Here is an example.

A: (to B) “please open the door.”

B: go and open the door.

I’ll ask some groups to show their jobs, and show my opinions for their performance such as “quite good! Well done! So excellent” and so on.

Step 5.Draw a conclusion and consolidation

a) Then ask ss to observe the sentences again. I’ll help them to draw a conclusion of the forms of imperative sentences. That is,

肯定结构: (Positive forms)

? 1. Do型 (即:动词原形(+宾语)+其它成分)。

?:Please have a seat here.=Have a seat here, please.

?有的祈使句在意思明确的情况下,动词可省略。如:This way, please. = Go this way, please.

? 2. Be型 (即:Be + 表语(名词或形容词)+其它成分)。

? Be a good boy!

? 3. Let型 (即:Let + 宾语 + 动词原形 + 其它成分)。

? Let me help you.

否定结构: (Negative forms)

? 1. Do型和Be型的否定式都是在句首加don’t构成。 , Don't forget me!

?Don't be late for school!

? 2. Let型的否定式有两种:

?①“Don‘t + let + 宾语 + 动词原形 + 其它成分”

?②“Let + 宾语 + not + 动词原形 + 其它成分”。

? Don’t let him go. / Let him not go.。

? 3. 有些可用no开头,用来表示禁止性的祈使句。

?No + n / doing + 其他成分

? No smoking! No fishing!

?b).Consolidation

?①Finish the exercises on PPT.

1.咱们一起玩吧

2.请不要迟到.

3.回答这个问题.

4.请保持安静。

5.不要让我走!

?② If time permits, finish the exercises on P63, grammar fun time exercise 1 in class.

Step 6. Summary

祈使句结构总结如下:(Write them on the Bd)

肯定:1. Do型

2. Be型

3. Let型

否定:1. Don’t 型

2. Let型的否定式有两种:

①“Don‘t + let + 宾语 + 动词原形 + 其它成分”

②“Let + 宾语 + not + 动词原形 + 其它成分”。
