Donate(捐赠)money. The most easiest way to help the homeless is to donate your money. While you want to do that, you can donate your money to local(当地的）organizations（组织）. Most charity organizations know where the most help is needed.

Donate things. Donate your used or new things is another easy way to help. Donate these things to local organizations which helps the homeless or give it to homeless people. The best things to donate include things like professional clothing and new socks.

Provide（提供）food. There are lots of ways that you can help homeless people gets food. You can donate fresh fruits and vegetables to local soup kitchens.

Call emergency services(应急服务机构). If you see someone who maybe a danger to himself and others, call emergency services. If someone is clear having a serious problem，call for help ,too. If someone is in danger because of weather conditions(条件）, call emergency services ,too.

In the July，little Helen always goes to see her grandfather on a farm. On the farm，there are many kinds of animals，such as cows，dogs，cats and sheeps. She likes to play with them because they can make her happily.

On the farm，there is also a little elephant. It has not mother and it never play with other animals. It often walks around lonely. This is why Helen likes it. Helen likes it so much that many times she tells the elephant how sorry she feels for the dead of its mother and she loves it very much. Gradually（渐渐地）it becomes very friendly to Helen. Doing housework is really not as worse as it sounds. If we all do our parts, it seems less annoying. Why should your mother wash your dirty dishes You are able take care of yourself. Doing some chores will show that you are becoming more and more independent.

Some of us may think that we are too busy not to do chores. But most parents work all day and are then expected to keep a clean house! Dividing chores between the whole family will make everyone's job much easy．

Learning to do housework can provide you for valuable（珍贵的）skills for the future. It gives you a sense of responsibility（责任感）. Next time you see something that needs to do at home, do it yourself and show that you can do anything.

Young people are often unhappy when they are with their parents. They say that their parents don't understand them. They often think their parents are too strict in them. Parents often find it difficult to win their children's trust and they seem to forget what they themselves felt when they were young.

For example, young people like to do things without much thinking. It's one of their way to show that they grow up and they can solve any difficult problem. Older people worry more easily. Most of them plan things ahead and don't like their plans to changed. So when you want your parents to let you to do something,you will have better success if you ask before you really start doing it.

Young people often make their parents angrily by clothes they wear, the music they enjoy and something else. But they don`t mean to cause any trouble. They just feel that in this way they can be cut off from the old people's world and they want to make a new culture of their own. And if their parents don't like their music and clothes or their way of speech, the young people feel very happy. Sometimes instead of go out with their parents, they just want to stay at home lonely and do what they like.

If you plan to do something, you'd better winning your parents over and get them to understand you. If so,your parents will certainly let you do what you want to do.

Last Friday a storm swept through two villages in the New Territories, destro y(摧

毁)fourteen homes. Seven others were so bad damaged (破坏) that their owners had to leave them, and fifteen others had broken windows or broken roofs. One person killed, several were badly hurt and took to hospital, and a number of the other people received smaller hurt. Altogether over two hundreds people were homeless after the storm.

A farmer, Mr. Black, said that the storm began early in the morning and last for over an hour.

“I am eating with my wife and children,” he said, “When we heard a loud noise. A few minutes later our house fell down on top of us. We tried our best to climb out

but then I saw that one of my child was missing. I went back inside and found him, safe but very frightened（恐惧的）.”

Mrs. Brown said that her husband had just left for work while she felt that her house was moving. She ran outside at once with her children.

“There was no time to take anything,” she said, “A few minu tes later, the roof （屋顶）came down.”

Soldiers helped to take people out of the flooded (水淹的) area and the welfare department (福利机构) brought them food, clothes and tents（帐篷）.

Once upon a time all feelings went to an island（岛）for a vacation, and each was having a good time. Suddenly, a warning（警告）of a strong storm was announced （通知）, so all ran to their boats. But, Love did not wish to run away quickly. There was so much to do. But while the clouds got dark, Love knew it was time to leave. But there were no boats to use. Love looked around with hope.

Just then Richness was passing by Love in a large boat. Love shouted, "Richness, can you take me with you" Richness answered, "No, I can't. There is a lot of the gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you."

Love decided to ask Vanity (虚荣) who was also passing in a beautiful boat for help, But Vanity said in a cold voice, "No, I can't take you with me. My boat will get dirty with your dirty foot."

Saddness passed by after sometime. Again, Love asked for help. But it was useless. "No, I can't take you with me. I am so sad. I want to be by myself."

When Happiness passed by a few minutes late, Love again called for help. But Happiness was so happy that it hardly cared about someone else.

Love was growing worried and hopeless. Just then somebody called out, "Come, Love, I will take you with me." Love did not know who was so kind, but jump onto the boat happily.

After get off the boat, Love met Knowledge. Love asked, "Knowledge, do you know who was so kind to give me a lift when no one else wished to help"

Knowledge smiled, "Oh, that was Time."

"Time" asked Love. "But why did Time help me"

Knowledge smiled and answered, "Because only Time is able to understand how valuable (有价值的) Love is."

●If you are in a group with a friend, but he or she is feeling shy, give him or her time to answer questions by himself or herself. Sometimes people think that answer questions for a shy person is helping him or her.

●Let your friend know when you have felt shy and what you did to make him or her feels better.

●When your friend needs to do something and your friend is feeling shy, help your friend do more training, such as talk in front of class.

●When your friend felt shy before he or she did something, remember to tell your friend how well after he or she did .

I’m Eric. I love my hometown--California. That place has many sweet childhood memory for me.

When I was a small boy, I had to get up before sunrise to work on the farm. In sunrise I could see a house has golden windows far away form the farm. Every day I consider it with interest and wondered what the house looked inside. To be honesty, I really wanted to live there! I often said to myself, “Some day I will own a house like that.”

One day I walked to the house with golden windows. I walked for a while and then I stopped in the front of the house. To my surprised, there were no long golden windows. I was very upset.
