A. Selected NIPA Tables

The selected set of NIPA tables presents the most recent estimates of gross domestic product (GDP) and its components that were released on January 27, 2006. These estimates include the “advance” estimates for the fourth quarter of 2005.

The selected set presents quarterly estimates

that are updated monthly. Annual estimates are presented in most of the tables.

The GDP news release is available on BEA ’s Web site within minutes after the release. T o re-ceive an e-mail notification of the release, go to , and subscribe. The “Selected NIPA Tables” are available later that day.

1. Estimates for durable goods and nondurable goods for 1996 and earlier periods are based on the 1987 Standard Indus-trial Classification (SIC); later estimates for these industries are based on the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS).

2. Includes government consumption expenditures, which are for services (such as education and national defense) produced by government. In current dollars, these services are valued at their cost of production.

3. For some components of final sales of computers, includes computer parts.
