我的港大申请流程和有用信息

本来觉得申请是一件很个人的事情，不应该拿出来到处讲，网上的攻略啊贴士什么的都已经很多，自己说了也是白说。但是看着群里一个个简单或者幼稚的问题，实在不忍心装作没看见，回答多了，口水多了，想想还是贴出来，权当参考，希望对大家有用。评论的话我就不多说了，因为只要不要太懒的话，其实申请的问题都不是问题，求人最终都是求己。

我申请的是HKU，不过第一份材料是申请NSU，所以有了一些经验，做起来快很多

一、申请流程

10月份联系教授，到学校各处准备证明，复印，打印，写材料，准备推荐

信

11月份基本上各项工作完成，准备好材料了，打电话让托福送分，然后就去港大的网页网申，登记，打包材料，拿去学校的Fedex网点快递，一天后到，然后发信给研究生院，告诉他们材料已经寄出，请收到了给confirm letter，并告诉教授，已经投递申请了，OK http:///gradsch/ 这是研究生院的网址这是研究生院在我网申后的回信：

我把我的cover letter贴出来，各项解释一下，每个人不一样，不一定要按照我的来做，但是港大要填的申请表上已经注明了要邮寄的材料必备清单，邮寄电话，送分代码，缴费方式，仔细看就知道了，别偷懒

CV：个人简历，包括学术背景、参加科研活动、发表文章、参加会议、实习、相关其它内容，2－3页最多；

RP：研究计划，我申请的是城市规划，10页左右，HKU只要求3－4页，这个主要是用来征服导师的

UPF: University PhD Fellowship博士生奖学金申请，额外给的，要向学校说明为什么要给你这个奖学金

ECAR：课外活动报告，这是从申请时新加坡学来的，把获奖的和社会公益实践之类的活动全部写上去，英文，最后再把获奖证明付后。

最后再把证书，奖状，能证明的之类的，全部堆上去

我的申请材料大概接近1公斤，按顺序排好。虽然重了些，但是这个钱不应该省，反正也就200多

三、关于推荐信

推荐信注意事项：

1、能手写最好，不行就打印，千万不要复印

2、每封推荐信的格式都要不一样，尽管内容是相似的：信纸、推荐老师简历格式、签名格式、开头结尾的格式；

3、推荐信中一定要提到你申请的学校，越详细越好；

4、一般过程，先把内容发给老师看，老师觉得没问题了，打印，给他签字，封口签章，信封上注明申请的基本信息，免得自己弄乱了；

5、推荐信的语气要温和，不要过于激烈的赞美，越牛的老师越是冷静，例如，as the wonderful reputation of harvard, i belive this young can make great effort........这已经够了，不用过于强烈；6，推荐信必备信息：老师怎么认识你的，他觉得你的闪光点再哪里，你的学术潜力如何？他觉得你去哪里的前途如何？

7、先把样本发给老师看，没问题再

打印出来，连同学校要求的表格一起给老师填写，签名，准备好信封，装好，签章，记得出门带胶水；

现在申请香港博士终于尘埃落定了，认真写个总结，既是对自己这段历程的回顾，也是希望能够给大家一些参考。读博士一直是我的理想，因为我做学术的愿望很清晰，很强烈，所以在硕士入学之前的那个暑假就一直在收集关于读博的信息，不过那时对出去读博没有概念，关注的都是国内考博的信息。所以最后能够拿到香港大学的offer，也是一种偶然。 1、个人教育背景本科和硕士在两所不同的985高校，都是社会学专业。由于种种原因，本科期间成绩非常一般，60、70多分的课程不在少数，也有不及格的。但自己感兴趣的课程、符合自己研究方向的专业课程如“城市社会学”、“发展社会学”成绩较好。没有获得过奖学金。英语成绩较为稳定，一年时间内一次性通过四级和六级考试，并通过大学英语四六级考试口语考试。公开发表论文1篇。本科期间成绩较差，这恐怕是我申请不顺利的一个重要原因。硕士期间成绩稳定，仅有一门课程低于80分。跨院系选修了数门与自己研究方向相关的课程。获得校级优秀研究生荣誉和奖学金共5次。公开发表论文共计7篇。参加过一次院系级的学术论坛，递交论文入选优秀论文集并做PPT报告。 2、英语考试 2007年9月雅思考试，7分。 3、申请缘起女朋友有很多次向我提出申请出国读博的建议，我有一些认识，但没有认真查阅相关信息。一次关注某个我感兴趣的教授的履历，香港中文大学的，忽然间觉得似乎应该认真考虑一下出去读博的事情了。不过确实是对出国读博的困难性有一定的了解，所以把目标锁定在香港。加上随后就得知了提前毕业的同学和师姐申请香港成功的消息，在跟同寝室同学交流的过程中逐渐对申请坚定了信心。申请自然首先需要英语成绩，香港的英国殖民地身份，加上一个同学的建议，于是就跟同寝室的其他两个同学一起糊里糊涂的选择了雅思。4月报名正式准备，9月考试，有半年的时间充分准备。8月整整一月都待在学校里苦读英语。与同学共同学习、互相激励也很有帮助 4、对香港高校的直接了解 7月参加了一个由香港学联组织的夏令营活动，到深圳和香港参观了一星期。期间参观了香港城市大学、香港大学、香港科技大学、树仁大学，有讲座等活动。尤其是在科大的讲座还是很有帮助的。对香港的城市生活和高等教育有了直观的了解。
