教学背景分析

教学内容:

1.单元主题:本单元是人教版高中英语必修4 Unit1--- Women of achievement,主要是围绕成功女性这一主题展开,其中重点介绍了Jane Goodall和Lin Qiaozhi 两位伟大成功女性。学习本单元有助于提高对妇女社会角色的认识,了解成功女性的奋斗经历和勇于斗争的精神,培养学生(尤其是女生)的事业心和社会责任感,建立正确的性别观和自信心。可以帮助学生深切感受到无论男女,只要对他人有无私的爱心,对事业有坚定的信心,并不懈地为之倾注心血,都能成就一番事业。

2.课堂内容:本节课是Writing写作课。是本单元的第5课时。在学习了Jane Goodall和Lin Qiaozhi两位伟大女性后,在对人物介绍有了一定的基础后,由老师引导,学生完成任务,逐步完成人物描写写作课。

3.内容分派:Lead-in运用Using language--- reading (Why not carry on her good work?)林巧稚这个人物作为导入对象,引导学生从简单的词汇到简短英语短句最后总结从哪几方面进行人物描写。

人物介绍描写从背景、外貌、性格、成就、兴趣爱好、教育背景等几方面评价人物。每环节分设任务让学生结组或者自由讨论完成。实战演练部分呈现完整范文,师生共同分析文章总结介绍人物的文章怎么完成。作业以学生熟悉的教师为题材进行课后练习。

教学方法:

采用任务驱动方法,在整个学习过程中,充分确立学生的主体地位,充分调动学生的学习积极性和主观能动性,强化学生的个性培养,注意在教学的各环节中创设“情景”加强“协作”“会话”,让学生主动积极获取知识,使其学会,会学,真正意义上成为学习的主人。

1.演示法:把相关林巧稚的图片、视频等展示给学生看,便于学生对人物背

景知识的把握,并从旧知识中获得启迪,从而达到解决问题的目的。

2.任务驱动教学法:将所要学习的新知识隐含在一个或几个问题和小组活动之中,学生通过对所提的任务进行分析、讨论,并在老师的指导和帮助下

找出解决问题的方法,最后通过任务的完成而实现对所学知识的意义建

构。

3.多媒体辅助教学法:把关于人物描写涉及的文本、图片、音频、视频等信息融合在课件中,可以增加课堂信息量的输入并发挥学生的多种感官的作用,激发学生学习兴趣,提高教学效率。

1. Enjoy some pictures of Lin Qiaozhi

Teacher’s activity:Guide students to choose different words to

describe Lin Qiaozhi. (Give tips through ppt25)

T: Look at these pictures, answer the following questions.

Who is she?

What qualities does she have?

Can you use one word to describe her?

Students’activity: Brainstorm some words to describe Lin Qiaozhi and share them.

2. Enjoy a short video of Lin Qiaozhi

Teacher’s activity:Lead students to make simple sentences to describe Lin Qiaozhi. (Make a summary through ppt26)

T: Let’s enjoy a short video about Lin Qiaozhi and think about these questions:

?Do you think she is a successful woman?

?What did she do to impress you most?

?Do you admire her? Why?

?What information can you get from this short video?

(After about three minutes)

T: Now give you a few minutes to discuss these questions. You can do it with your partner or with your group. Please try to give your talk to the class and give as many details as you can.

Purpose:此环节设置是用真实的图片和视频激发学生学习兴趣,复现?Using language--- reading(Why not carry on her good work?)内容,由于是刚刚学习过这篇短文,学生在完成任务时会相对容易。这个环节是由词汇逐渐过渡到简单的句子的过程,进而由学生总结人物描写会从那几方面着手,教师进行适时补充完善。

Task1. Group activity: Compare the two pictures (5 minutes)

Teacher’s activity: Ask students to compare pictures and help students to summarize the useful sentences about a person’s birthday, birth place and family background

T: Compare the two pictures and answer two questions.

Q1.Do you know them? Who are they?

Q2. Can you tell us the family background of them?

Students’ activity: work in groups to discuss and answer questions.

T: Very good! Just you use some sentences to describe the family backgrounds of these two persons. For example:

San Mao is an orphan. Maybe he was born in a poor family.

In this sentence, we can pick up a structure: …was born in / into a poor / rich family in…. Can you list out others? Ok, look at the screen, here are some useful sentences:

This sentence is Lin Q iaozhi’s character. She had devoted her whole

This sentence is something in detail. It gives examples to support its

description. Usually, these examples are the person’s big events or

achievements.

Purpose:以教师自己为例让学生展开讨论描写人物性格的词汇,贴近生活,

T: Please translate these sentences and pay attention to the phrases.

T: Let’s have a competition. Here are three kinds of questions. Different levels give each a different value. 10points, 20points, 30 points. Every group has a chance to choose one question. There is a chance to catch up with other groups. Understand?

Step3. Conclusion ( 5 minutes )

Teacher’s activity: Analyze the sample and help students to learn how to write a composition about a person.

T: Now give you a title to introduce a person, look at the screen. Here is a sample.

Song Qingling was born into a rich family in Shanghai, so she got a

good education. And she also went to study in the USA.

In 1915, she married Dr Sun Yat-sen, who had a great influence on China. She was kind-hearted and easy-going for her whole life. Later, she was made an honorary president of the People’s Republic of China. She concerned herself with the welfare of women and children in later years and started the China Welfare Institute, which is intended to serve women and children now. She also led the Women’s Federation. Furthermore, she worked hard for civil rights, democracy and peace.

She was a great woman and made great contributions to the welfare of women and children in China. I thought we all should learn from her.
