When we plan to visit other counties, there is always a question that is whether we should follow local customs and behavior. And it is really a valuable problem which is worthy to discuss. First of all, the two opposite opinions can be given a full analysis.

People who believe that visitors to other countries should follow local customs and behavior hold an idea as follows. Local customs and behavior are habits which are followed from generation to generation. Taking part in the lifestyle as the local people is not only a way to reduce the collision between natives and visitors, but also a respective action which shows one's culture. Besides, at tourism region, people from all over the world and having various habits gather together. The unique way to get along well among each other is following the same rule. The rule which people could reach an agreement is local custom.

An opposite idea is that the host country should welcome cultural differences. Primarily, visitors from other countries help to fill the gaps between different cultures. New ideas, knowledge and fashion can be brought in. Furthermore, this communication may result in economic exchange, which not only helps local people live a wealthy life, but also is good for the development of the country.

From my point of view, respect is the most important factor. There are multiple of ways to communicate cultures and histories, such as video programs, books and magazines and cultural lectures. The exchange can be made by a more gentle way which is accepted easier by local people.
