英语听力中数字反应能力训练

了解决这个问题,成功的英语学习者可能都有自己独特的经历和方法。这里推荐的是一种高效的训练方案。

1、下载英语数字反应能力训练用表,它包含七个表格,分别为3-9位数字。每个表包含1500个数字,是由电脑随机产生的。

2、.如果你经常坐在电脑旁边,只要有空闲时间,或三分钟、或五分钟不等,随意选一个表来练习,权当是一种休息。当然,最好由浅入深循序渐进。你也可以根据自己的情况安排固定时段来练习。

3、不必按顺序,也不必从头至尾完成每个表的每个数字,完全随心所欲。只要目之所及,立即在脑海中对数字作出反应,同时口中念念有词(当然是用英语),只要不影响到他人,最好诵出声来。从数字映入眼中到诵完这个数字所用时间,随着练习的进行会越来越短,目标是:对数字形成条件反射。

4、训练要诀:目光扫过数字,然后尽快移开目光,通过瞬间记忆来完成数字的读诵,即使是八、九位的长串数字,也尽量争取做到0.5秒内准确记住,并完整而流畅地诵出。这不难,稍加练习就可以做到。

5、这种方法虽然不是直接训练数字听力,但由于我们从开始学英语就接触了数字的英语表达,对数字的基本语音构件其实早就熟悉了,问题只在于由这些基本构件串成的较大数字我们的反应比较迟缓,只要解决了这个天然障碍,数字的听与说问题其实会同步消除。

6、如果不常坐在电脑旁边,可以随意截取某段表格,然后把它打印出来,自己挤时间进行练习。有mp3、4的同学,可以把表格转成txt文件随身携带,有空可以通过mp3、4的文本阅读器来练习。

7、数字听力要诀:

1)阿拉伯化图形反应:阿拉伯数字是最简明有效的数字文字符号,只要我们一听见英文数字,立即反应出其阿拉伯字符串图案,这要通过长期的训练才能熟练;

2)跨越"万"之障碍:对于五位以上数字,中国人是以"万"和"亿"为核心来表达。受习惯支配,我们总是不自主地试图把听到的英文数字转成xxx万、xxx亿再予以接收,这大大地减慢了我们对数字的反应速度。其实完全没必要这么做,我们应该逐步养成直接按英语国家的

习惯来接受数字语音信息。只要克服了英语数字的语音接收障碍,口译或笔译成中文时再转成万亿制表达其实是很简单的事。

数词分序数词和基数词两种。首先,学生必须熟记0~100 这些基数词单词,根据构词法的规则掌握序数词的拼写。大部分序数词是由基数词在词尾加上后缀- th 变化而来。如:fourth、sixth、seventh.请记住下列特殊的序数词:one- first two- second three- third five—fiftheight- eighth nine- ninth twelve- twelfth结尾是以_ty 的表示整数的序数词改y 为i 加eth 。如:twenty- twentieth sixty- sixtieth ninety-ninetieth

两位数或两位以上的序数词,将最后一位数改为相应的序数词即可。如:twenty- one———twenty- firsteighty- five-———eighty- fifth其次,学生需要了解英汉两种语言的计数单位是不一样的,汉语中有百、千、万、十万、百万、千万、亿、十亿、兆等计数单位,而英语中没有万、十万、千万、亿等计数单位。英语计数单位采用国际习惯,每三位数用逗号隔开,即一千以上的数,先从后向前数,每三位加一个“,”,第一个逗号前为thousand,第二个逗号前为million,第三个逗号前为billion(英语国家为thousand million)。下面着重介绍数词相关的读法:

1.年份的读法

一般来讲,两位数字为一组读数。如:1986 年读作nineteen eighty- six;1908 年读作/`nai`ti:n`ou`eit/;2000 读作two thousand。十九世纪八十年代1880s读作eighteen eighties。

2.日期的读法

December 25 (th) 读作December thetwenty—fifth;也可以写作25 December,即读作the twenty—fifth ofDecember。

3.星期与月份的的读法

首先,学生必须熟记一周七天:Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Friday,Saturday,Sunday;一年十二个月:January,February,March,April,May,June,July,August,September,October,November,Dec ember,一周七天的单词词尾为- day;十二个月这些单词中九月、十月、十一月、十二月四个单词的词尾为- ber。同时要求学生能准确地将它们拼读出来,并了解其缩写形式:Mon.,Tues.,Wed.,Thurs.,Fri.,Sat.,Sun.,Jan.,Feb.,Mar.,Apr.,May.,Jun.,Jul.,Aug.,Sep.,Oct., Nov.,Dec.。

4.时间的读法

12:30 读作 a half past twelve 或twelvethirty;14:15 读作 a quarter past fourteen 或fourteen fifteen。

5.分数和百分数的读法

分子读作基数词,分母读作序数词,分子大于“1”的时候,分母要加“s”。如3/4 读作three fourths;如果分数是二分之一或四分之一也可读作a half 或a quarter;百分数的读法,英语中百分之这个单词“percent”,20/100 读作twenty percent;85/100 读作eighty- five percent。

6.小数的读法

小数点后面的数要单个读。小数点前面的数按整数的读法,遇到“0”读:“zero”。如0.35 读作zero point three five.但表示钱的时候小数部分却不单读,如:2.45 美元读作two dollars forty five。

7.在不同地点数字读法也有所变化

如:在机场报飞机航班,我们把Flight 339 读作Flight three three nine 或Flightthreethirty- nine;电话号码:17885139读作one- seven- eight- eight- five- one- three-nine 或one- seven- double eight- fiveonethree- nine。

8.学生在听四位以上的多位数字时,

要根据英语的计数习惯来分辨听音过程中应集中精力听清有多少个trillion,billion,million,及时记下,在它后面的分别用“,”隔开,没有具体的数字就打上“0”。不管多大的数字,其规律都是一样的。

9.学生还必须对几种常用的度、量、

衡及货币单位的读法以及它们之间的换算比较熟悉如:mile,meter,foot,gallon,gram,ounce,dollar,cent,penny,franc,pound,shilling,rouble,yen 等。

学生要正确分辨英语听力中的数字,既要储备与数词相关的的词汇量,还要掌握一定的规律

如何做好英语听力中的“数字”题 小溪塔高中陈晓红 我们生活在“数字”的世界里,每时每刻都与各种数字打交道。从人口数量、价格、速度、高度、产量、时刻、年代、日期到比例、温度、银行账号、电话号码,生活中充满了数字,正因为如此,数字在英语听力教学中占有相当的比重。听力试题所涉及的数字包括年代、时间、年龄、街道、房间、楼层号、价格、数量等。要做好此类听力题,学生应从掌握数字的正确读法开始,能流利地读出各种数字是前提。 一各类形式的数字读法 (1)基数词 基数词是基础, 所有其他数字都在此基础之上形成, 其中要特别注意四位以上的大额数字。英文是以每三位划分一个单位: thousand, million, billion, trillion。如: 134, 读作: one hundred (and) thirty- four,66, 906读作: sixty- six thousand, nine hundred (and) six. 高考英语翻译技巧与能力训练 高考英语中的翻译(中译英)题要求考生能应用所学过的语法和词汇来准确地表达思想,是一种要求相当高的考查形式。要求考生把中文的句子译成通顺的、语法结构正确的、符合英语表达习惯的英语句子,并能准确地传达中文句子中的每一个信息。该题型全面地考查学生英语词汇、语法等知识的综合运用能力,它对学生的动词时态、语态、名词的单复数、冠词、形容词、副词、介词等应用能力,还对学生的词组、句型、句子结构等进行了全面考查。翻译不仅在高考英语主观题中占不小的比例,而且翻译能力还直接影响考生在作文中的表现。 高考评分标准: 1.每题中单词拼写、标点符号、大小写错误每两处扣一分;2.语法错误(包括时态错误)每处扣一分;3.译文没用所给的单词扣一分。 如何才能提高中译英水准,在高考中获得理想的分数呢?考生除了必须具备比较扎实的语言基础外,关键还在于学会总结规律,找准中译英的切入点。 一、分析句子结构、寻找合适的句型 中文必须仔细读,一定要看的就是题目给我们的关键字或关键的词组,也就是我们常说的key words。尤其是最后两句翻译句子,它们大都在句子结构上提高了难度。读什么?读出句子结构:对于简单句,辨别出主谓宾,分清定语、同位语和状语;对于并列句,记住两个语法意义上独立的分句,须由连词连接起来;对于复合句,须区分定语从句,名词性从句以及状语从句。一般来说,中译英的句型可分为三大类:1.简单句;2.并列句;3.复合句;同时我们也要注意非谓语动词及其他一些特殊结构。回顾近几年的高考试题时,也不难发现试题中考了一些特殊句式。如:It句型(近几年考得较为频繁)、倒装句、with结构。 例1: 昨天我的电脑坏了。(wrong) 解析:本题考查:1)简单句There be结构;2)wrong的用法;3)中英文表达的差异。 译句:There was something wrong with my computer yesterday. 例2: 遇到困难的时候,我们需要的不是彼此埋怨,而是互相帮助。(not…but) 解析:本题考查:1)复合句:when引导的状语从句;what引导的主语从句;2)not…but结构;3)“彼此埋怨”的英文翻译。 译句:When(we are)in difficulty/When we meet with difficulties/When we have difficulties ,what we need is not to blame each other but to help each other. 例3:我们能做什么来阻止这种疾病蔓延呢?(prevent) 分析:如果有学生没有读全中文原句的话,就很有可能看成是以前所做的“我们要做些什么来阻止这种疾病的蔓延”,而译为We should do something to prevent the spread of this disease.因为这个原因而造成扣分,就太不应该了。 译句:What can we do to prevent the spread of this disease? 例4:他很有可能通过自己的努力得到驾驶执照。(likely) 译句:He is likely to get the driving license with his own efforts. 分析:有些学生一看到有可能,就会想到自己比较熟悉的possible,想当然地翻译成It is possible that…的结构。其实,学生对likely这个key word的使用也是会的,完全能够使用be likely to do或It’s likely th at…的结构。 例5:上海近几年经历了许多变化,如今已成为世界闻名的经济中心。(go through) 分析:乍一看,学生很容易轻易下笔,Shanghai has gone through…,it has become…,这已成为很多学生的一个习惯,句子和句子中随便用逗号隔开,英语不像中文,必须要考虑到句子的结构,逗号也不能随意使用。而此句中,就要想到用并列句中的连接词and来连接两个成分。
