To Head of the Community,

I’m the student in charge of “Homes for Senior Citizens” volunteer association in our community, writing this letter to apply for your permission, support and supply as to planing a spring outing for the elderly.

This outdoor activity mainly involves going to Gu Cun Park, a place surrounded by trees and flowers of various colors, and having a simple but healthy picnic, which aims at pleasing the old and relaxing them. In order to achieve this, the volunteer association will arrange some experienced students as good helpers to do something like guiding, serving and explaining professional knowledge. Concerns about this outing, however, are still existing, and your support is in urgent need. Firstly, we would appreciate it very much if you could raise a certain amount of money for renting a tour bus and purchasing some food and drinks. Secondly, some family members know little about this activity and may not agree to this idea, so we really hope the community issues a formal announcement about this, getting them informed and to feel at ease. Thirdly, it will be a brilliant touch to this outing if some adults knowing medical treatment participate in this outing.

What mentioned above is all planned for the happiness of the elderly, and we really hope it can be carried out with your help and support. I’m looking forward to your reply.

Yours sincerely,

LiMing

范文(一):(曹杨二中22分)

Hello, everyone! It’s my great honor to speak here! Since the Mother’s Day is approaching, I’d like to share with you some of my feelings based on a survey.

As is vividly shown in the chart, most students in the three age groups choose to celebrate their mothers’ and classmates’ birthdays. And as time goes by, the number increases from about 50 percent elementary school students, 60 percent junior high school students to over 90 percent senior high school students. However, among all the three groups, more students tend to celebrate their peers’ birthday rather than their mothers’.

The reasons are as follows. First, the increase in the number of students who celebrate others’ birthdays indicates an increasing awareness of others around us, and a tendency and desire to express our care to others, which is a positive sign. However, the lack of attention to our own mothers’ birthday may lie in the limited time spent together, for students often share most of their time with peers at school. Less company thus leads to less communication, resulting in our less care of our mothers. Mom should have been our closest friend, and we are all clear of their warm care and love.

The Mothers’ Day is around the corner, and it’s high time that we care more about our mom and increase quality time spent with them. Behaviors are more powerful than words. Please well treat your mom. Thank you for your listening.

范文(二):

My fellow classmates,

Good morning. It’s a great honor for me to stand here, giving a speech. Today is Mothers’ Day and I want to talk about the topic of “Our thanks to Mum.”

This is a chat that shows the result of an investigation on the percents of our celebrating birthdays for mothers and classmates respectively. As is revealed, the number of pupils celebrating birthdays for mothers takes up 54% and for classmates, 56%。The number of senior high students celebrating birthdays for mother accounts for 91% and for classmates, 92%. However, the gap between the percents of junior students who celebrate birthdays for mothers and those for classmates is surprising big, at 66% and 86% respectively.

These figures mirror the phenomenon that we students, regardless of whether we are pupils, junior students or senior students, tend to celebrate birthdays for our classmates, rather than mothers. This is partly due to our closer relationship between peers, more understanding and more interests shared in common. What’s more, the conflicts between the certain percents of junior students may result from the adolescents’ mental states of disobeying their parents, thus broadening the gap between children and parents and neglecting their thanks to mums.

What I want to say is that mothers are always the people we should show gratitude to, not only because they gave us birth, but also they are forever the closest people to us. No one knows what may happen in the future, happy or sad, but one thing is certain that mothers are our habours where we can relax and get comfort. Mothers are to us what sunshine to darkness. Let’s show our gratitude to our thanks for listening.

Peer pressure is inevitable in our life path. When an exam is over and everyone gets his grades, we feel it; When hearing one of our friends is admitted to a prestigious university in advance, we feel it; When parents compare us with those straight-A students, we feel it; We’re surrounded by peers and feel their pressure everywhere, Therefore, how to deal with it constantly remains a problem for us teenagers.

When I attended a summer camp last summer holiday, I met students of the same age as me from all across China. During our communication, I surprisingly found that they were extremely good at subjects like math and physics, they had a good command of advanced skills such as calculus, in which I didn’t have the slightest clue. This gave me a sense of inferiority and make the camp a really hard time for me. However, after I returned home, I adjusted my mood and transformed pressure into motivation. I made great efforts to learn those skills on my own, and now I dare say I’m a little more knowledgeable.

My experience could serve as a vivid demonstration of peer pressure which is a double-edged sword. There is no doubt that peer pressure could become too heavy a burden, making us feel distressed, unconfident and inferior to others, stopping us from moving on with our heads up high. However, peers can also set an example for us, from which we become aware that some parts in us still leave much to be desired. Moreover, peer pressure stimulates our innate eagerness to compete and win. This enthusiasm for being better than others constantly motivates us to improve ourselves.

Indeed, to handle peer pressure properly in no easy task. But what other choice do we have but to face up to it with confidence instead of anxiety, and make the best use of it? (9+9+3) (315 words)

范文(二)

Friendship is such a weird stuff that we are always unconscious, or rather inevitably, regarding our best buddies as our most challenging rivals. We all endure peer pressure from time to time and the case of me and my friend Ramsey may well be a case in point.

Ramsey was a top student who got straight-A, leader of our class’s debate team and basketball team, a guitar genius, an enthusiastic volunteer and so forth. He did everything perfectly as if it were a piece of cake. Overshadowed by his perfection, I made up my mind that I must catch up with him. I took advantage of every little bit of time to review my lessons and stayed up late at night to do extra exercise papers. Besides, I even tried to take up guitar and basketball, whereas I’m rather poor at both. It was obvious that I pushed myself beyond my capacities and hence it wasn’t long before I realized that I had messed everything up. Disappointed and frustrated, I gave up my ambition and to my surprise, I become fairly satisfied as I lived as myself.

What the bitter experience has taught me is that one should never take peer pressure too seriously. Friends serve as good examples, yes, but it is no use trying to fit yourself into his pattern of success. More often than not, we are cheated by peer pressure into imitating everything our friends do and end up achieving nothing, only to lose ourselves. That surely isn’t what friendship is meat to bring.

As long as we keep friends, peer pressure is bound to be a burden. Nevertheless, in our never-ending struggle towards a better self, let’s bear in mind that we should stick to our own path and pattern. Never let peer pressure freak out of yourself. (9+9+3) (315 words)

范文(一)

As is apparently known in the picture above, a man experiences different stages on his way to managing one thing. We can see that he undergoes unwillingness, confusion, hard work in his process of succeeding in doing a certain thing. The picture really sets us thinking. It follows that in the course of realizing our goal, we need to make sustained efforts.

Just take my personal experience for example. I used to be a shy person and timid to communicate with strangers. As time went on, I found that l was a bit isolated from people surrounded me. Initially, I got a little depressed and found it more difficult to have a communication. I denied myself. Then l turned to my parents for help. They patiently guided me to be open-minded and exposed me to some social activities. I overcome my worries and fight once and again. Later on, l was surprised to find that l became more confident and easygoing. I realized the happiness the communication brought and made acquaintances with different kinds of people. I made it.

It was through sustained efforts that I was able to become an easygoing person and gain true friendships. (250 words score 22)

范文(二)

As is depicted in the drawing, success advents as one’s willingness and confidence moves up along the ladder. The thought-provoking image rings especially true to me. Vivid memories come flooding back to the days when I was learning ballet.

My parents sent me to a ballet trainer when I was five. Initially, I was totally reluctant and contradicted with all the training, pondering that learning such girly staff was an offence for me as a boy and could deprive me of the opportunity to interact with my peers. However, after I watched a ballet performance on the television, I was completely captivated by the essence of ballet –the perfect blend of strength and beauty. I gradually accepted the training while still wondering whether I could make it, since ballet has a high demand for one’s resilience. So I kept stretching my body every day and trained very hard. Eventually, I could handle sophisticated movements like self-rotation with ease.

From the experience, it dawns on me that only with willingness will one strive for his goal, make endeavors for it, and zero in one hundred percent in it, and only with confidence can one conquer those seemingly insurmountable obstacles and swipe the thorns lying in the road leading to ultimate success. I firmly believe that taking hold of willingness and confidence, we will surely not only survive but also thrive in our pursuit of success and become rosy in the rocky path of life. After all, life is not a series of coincidences but a series of consequences. (320 words score 22)

范文(三)

As is vividly depicted in the picture people go through a complex progress when achieving certain goals. Their attitudes change from self-denying to tentativeness and then to cheerfulness and confidence. Actually, life is a circular and we approach success step by step.

The story of Elson Murk, CEO of Tesla and Space X is really aspiring. He experienced loss of failures in

retrieving rockets and was once stuck in the period of being skeptical of himself. However, his tough mind and passion enable him to step out of the shadow and to pursue his dream. With his again-and-again trying, his efforts finally bore fruits. His rocket industry now becomes a giant globally.

Challenges and disappointment are unavailable on our way to success. Nevertheless, we still hold the power to decide what we are going to do. As long as we don't lose faith and are willing to try, we can break the obstacles in our minds and walk sure-footedly toward our goals.

Nobody can achieve success in one night without luck. Success is by no means an accident. We have to go through each phase bravely and eventually embrace its sweetness of success. (233 words 21 scores)

范文(四)

Life is like an ocean, only people with strong mind can reach the other side, when we meet with difficulties that we think we can’t conquer it, don’t be afraid of failure. Just do it, and them success becomes available.

At first, we may be pessimistic about the things which are hard to complete. Just like my poor physics, I was fed up with the difficult problems and believed firmly that I wouldn’t do it and I couldn’t do it, but I remembered that Meng Ke said, ‘If the God wants to put great responsibility on you, he will make you suffer from hardship, and then you will be able to do what you couldn’t do.

Then I adjust my attitude. ‘What will happen if I try solving some physics problems?’ I asked myself. That might be an interesting challenge. Some faint will of working out the problems came into my mind. So I asked my teacher about the problems. He told me patiently how I should so with the problems. When I was puzzled about whether I should give up, he said, ‘Don’t hesitate. Just do it!’

So I tried my best to solve the problems. I never left my problems to tomorrow. Gradually, I was not afraid of them. Instead, I even enjoy myself when dealing with physics problems now. When I got full mark in a physics test, I knew that something had changed in my life.

In fact, I experienced the process of growth. My attitude towards physics changed from lack of confidence to being will to have a try, and then to sparing no effort to solve problems. Finally I was completely confident. Then I knew that life is like an ocean, only people with strong mind can reach the other side. When meeting with difficulties, just do it without hesitation. To whom it may concern,

It's inspiring to hear that garbage classification is advocated by the government since the environmental protection is an urgent fair, which is in the spotlight these days, while the fact that many neighborhoods have not achieved much progress is something that must be paid attention to. My suggestions are as follows: To begin with, the government is obliged to launch supervision system to ensure that every neighborhood is doing what it can do to meet the demand of litter classification.

In addition, under no circumstances will the people classify garbage if they don't know how to do it. How can you count on them to put the proposal into practice? Therefore, the lectures provided by the committee of the neighborhood to enable citizens to have and definite idea of garbage classification are of great importance. Additionally, posts can be put up in residential areas or can be broadcast in either the form of news or cartoons.

Finally, the movement of classifying garbage won’t last long unless we stimulate people's inner desire for a better environment and cozier life. All the citizens are bound to shoulder the responsibility for a cleaner sky for birds .a cleaner river for fishes.as well as a brighter future for humans ourselves To make this dream come true, the social awareness of environmental protection should be raised.

The environment isn't a mere lump of land, when we desire her progress, we need to promote the progress of everyone dwelling there.

Really hope this problem can be settled, and don't hesitate to contact me if you need.

Yours sincerely,

XXX

To whom it may concern,

Considering your department has long been devoted to the promotion of the litter classification, I, as a citizen of my beloved city, want to make my own efforts.

Although the litter classification, an attempt to protect the environment, is advocated by the government, many neighborhoods turn a deaf ear to it. The fact, to my sorrow, is far from rosy. All rubbish is mixed in a litter bin, just like a rubbish “melting pot”! Despite the poster, people still do as they please. It is their lack of awareness that arouse my concern.

Never before has our society been so civilized, but there is still space to improve. Given that the public merely regard the slogan as a slogan, I suggest new laws should be issued and new regulations should be enforced to ensure the efficiency of litter classification. Besides, we still need to help people cultivate the habit from the bottom of their heart. Thus publicity may be employed and lessons, if necessary , should be provided.

With the help of the laws and lessons, I hold a firm belief that the situation will surely improve. Only through joint efforts can we cherish this blue diamond in space!

Thank you for sparing several minutes to read my humble suggestions. I sincerely wish that they may be helpful to you.

范文(三)(19分)

Dear department manager:

I am writing this e-mail to make a feedback of the implement of the sort of rubbish in our estate. I appreciate it very much that the government advocates rubbish sorting with aims about protecting the environment ,but it

seems that the situation is far from satisfaction.

With most kinds of rubbish still mixed together instead of being dumped and the cleaners’ burdens hardly relieved, I’m afraid the residents in our neighborhood haven’t paid enough attention to rubbish sorting. And I’m wondering if my following suggestions will offer some help.

To view the problem objectively, I consider that the existed standards of rubbish sorting is too vague for residents to decide which rubbish bin they should throw their waste time in .As a result, it is necessary to raise and implement detailed sorting criteria ,with such posters put up in our neighborhood to inform the residents.

However, what matters most is still the residents’ subjective initiative and willingness. Educational activities about rubbish sorting should be held to increase residents’ awareness, while at the same time those who engage in the rubbish sorting willingly should be complimented openly, thus, setting positive examples for others. It is when everyone makes their own effort that we can truly protect the environment.

So finally, I hope that you can take my suggestions into consideration and I’m longing to see our estate clean and beautiful one day.

Yours sincerely

Students Union,

I am informed that we are going to hold a campus singing contest and you are hesitating about where to hold it. As far as I am concerned, our school’s gym is better than the city theater.

In terms of the cost, it is too expensive to rent the city theatre, compared with our school’s gym. Maybe we can use the money saved to perfect our devices and to increase the rewards to further attract students.

When it comes to the atmosphere, although there is no doubt that city theatre is superior to our school’s gym, our students can hardly free ourselves and enjoy the excitement of the music there. By contrast, the gym is where we are familiar with and where we can readily enjoy our time. After all, the purpose of the event is to release our study pressure and enrich our life.

Finally, city theatre is too far, for most of us live in the suburb. Therefore, compared with the gym, too much time is wasted on the road.

All in all, the school’s gym is the best choice and I hope the event will be held successfully.

Yours,

Li Hua

It's always wiser to cope with prank in calm than to lose one’s temper, and that is what I learned through my personal experience.

One day, when I walked into the classroom, I saw on the blackboard an old, fat, pig-faced boyish girl wearing a pony tail with my name beside it. Undeniably, I was furious at this picture, but instead of losing my temper and scolding the person who played the trick on me, I chose to laugh it off.

Although I knew exploding with anger might express my feelings immediately, it wouldn’t help me identify the teaser. What was worse, this might content him and lead to another practical joke. In contrast, laughing it off could convey my indifference. At least, I didn't cater to his pleasure of making fun of other students. If I threw my rage aimlessly, this would end up with not only pain but pointless argument. By comparison, telling that it hurt people for lack of respect to play such silly tricks might contribute to my classmates’ deep reflection on this incident.

I was very happy that I kept the situation under control. In fact, I got an apology from the joke maker for his rude behavior. Imagine what would it be like if I had indulged myself into anger and despair? I firmly believe the naughty student won’t do this ever again and I am pleased with the way I handled the prank. If asked to choose from losing my temper and laughing it off next encounter, I would always go for the latter. (行知中学李卓耘261 words)(9+9+4)

范文(二)

Stepping into the classroom one day, I saw awkward faces staring at me with a string of sympathy and somehow gloat. Confused and curious as I was, until I saw a hideous cartoon of me emerged on the blackboard. Embarrassment and indignity flooded over me instantly, although no discomfort could be perceived from my facial expression.

Leaving it ignored was my decision instead of intervention with furry, because in terms of interpersonal relationship between peers, the former reaction could probably construct an accessible social identity of a student, hence a larger contact circle. In contrast, furious response to this deliberate humiliation was highly likely to undermine the personal image due to the tendency of violence.

From the perspective of community, paying no attention to the insult could create an inclusive society on campus. On the contrary, any negative reaction in response to it might result in further increasing teasing because the attempt of disgrace would have been fulfilled eventually.(吴淞中学毛晨光之157 words)(9+9+4)

范文(一)

Dear classmates, since the college entrance examination is over and we are about to leave our school, a class farewell evening party is to be held soon to celebrate our three-year high school life. As the representative of the planning group, I would like to briefly introduce you our plan of the party.

The class farewell party will be held next Wednesday evening right in our classroom. For it will be the best time we gather together. As high school classmates, we find no reason to treat it so seriously, so we decided not to schedule a fixed programmed list. Instead, we want it to be a kind of “freedom” party where we can have anyone who wants to show himself and his talent, and we suppose this will make the atmosphere that night more lively and relaxing. After that, we’d move to the next part where we can recall our precious memory in the past three years in our class. Photos and videos will be displayed on a big screen with our classmates’ and teachers’ humorous comments. I believe this part would bring about a lot of fun. Next, we’d like to invite all the teachers who have taught us in the past three years to give us some advice on our future college life and in return, we will send them some handmade gifts to show our gratitude to their hard work and help in both our study and daily life, and this part would be the moving part and highlight of the whole party.

In a nutshell, the class farewell evening party will provide us with a golden opportunity to recall our precious memory as well as relieve ourselves. Advice and suggestion are welcomed, and we hope your advice would make the party a great success.

范文(二)

Time has fled quickly before we realize, and it’s time for us to graduate. Before parting with each other, our class is going to hold the last class meeting, whose theme will be the Past Golden Days.

At the class meeting, I plan to have several activities to bring an unforgettable ending to our middle school life. First, we are going to watch the videos and photos shot during the three years, especially in big events including the school sports meeting and the art festival, which is certain to make everyone recall those precious moments. After that, we’ll extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to our teachers, as well as give them our best wishes through cards, which can be preserved for a long time. Then comes one of the most important moments in our life. We’re going to choose a paper and meaningful place on the campus and take some photos in memory of our past golden days.

I plan to have the activities above because of reasons as follow. First and foremost, the high school is where we’ve spent most of our golden days of the teenage, which should be bore in mind, so preserving the photos is necessary. In the second place, the teachers have accompanied us for three years, teaching and comforting us. It is them who gave without asking anything for return. Therefore, they deserve our gratitude. Last but not least, the friendship developed on the campus is sure to last all through our lives and a photo of us as teenagers is a good way to preserve our pure and happy days as well as the friendship between us.

In a nutshell, I hope the last class meeting will be a star in our sky of memory, shining for long.

范文(三)

As graduation is drawing near, our class intends to hold the last class meeting. Reluctant as we are to say farewell, I’ll still try my utmost to make it unforgettable. In my plan, the theme of the class meeting is “Past and Future”, which means we’ll cherish all the moments we spent together, joys or sorrows, while we’ll also look forward to the future and devote ourselves to the society.

In the first section, photos recording our memories will be displayed, reminding us of the happiness and sufferings we share together. Videos will also demonstrate our footprints on various activities like the Art Festival, military training and sports meeting. Secondly, we will write a letter to ourselves ten years later. We can write down either wishes or expectations, and then letters will be sealed and be taken care of by our class teacher. They won’t be opened until ten years later when we gather together again. At last, we will sing the song “Friends” to end the meeting.

Reasons for my plan will be listed as follows. Firstly, being classmates for three years, we have too many precious memories to share. Everybody’s youth is unique and valuable, so putting memories in the bottom of our hearts will equip us with energy to forge ahead in our life. In the second place, as we change from adolescents to adults, we are bound to shoulder more responsibilities of the society. Thus, writing a letter to encourage ourselves to dedicate to the society will certainly be meaningful. Finally, the song will add to our grief to say goodbye, making the meeting memorable.

No matter how the class meeting will be, I will cherish my high school life in the bottom of my heart.

You're walking, stick on shoulder. You feel less weight and you are at ease. Nevertheless, it's your mother that walks behind you to take most of the weight and alleviate the burden of the water bucket for you.

The picture manifests a prevailing but thought - provoking phenomenon that parents spare no effort to shelter their kids, avert potential danger and relieve the burden. However, children take it for granted and think that life is easy.

Everything pales in front of parents’ love, they sacrifice themselves to light the way of their kids, but youngsters seem to fail to perceive the profound love and neglect their parents’ efforts sometimes.

Thus, children should learn to show gratitude to their parents for their permanent and everlasting love. They should beware of the exhaustion and fatigue of their parents and feel empathetic of the efforts their parents take.

However, is sheltering kids chronically right? Probably not. Children need to confront troubles on their own to grow up. Greenhouses only yield fragile flowers. Kids derive perseverance and growth from failure. Excessive protection may hinder their development contrary to parents’ anticipation.

Children should know that they must perceive the difficulty of their parents, but parents should also know that they can't spoil their kids. (208 words)

Dear Zhang Min,

Having read your letter, I feel it’s an absolute good opportunity for you and your classmates to engage in some outdoor activities, such as the Spring Outing you mentioned in the letter.

My suggestion towards arranging a successful and meaningful outing is that you need to prepare some group exercises, such as hide and seek, or other forms of traditional games.

Because of the fact that students nowadays focus too much on electronic device, many of them simply neglect the necessity of communicating with different people. Even though they study in one classroom, it seems that they don’t have strong willingness to have frequent interactions with others, which poses negative influences to their communicative skills. Therefore, the significance becomes more prominent when it comes to appropriately arranging certain activities like this.

As the popular proverb goes, a year’s plan lies in Spring. Spring is a fantastic season with flowers blossoming, leaves sprouting, and everything appearing a refreshing look. This is something that you really can’t miss. Grasp the opportunity to appreciate the beauty and the wonder of nature. Not only can doing so enrich one’s spiritual life, but also bring a sense of peace, which is indispensable to help eliminate pressure.

Another factor that should be taken into account is there is direct link between doing some outdoor programs and adolescents’ health conditions. Given the fact that more and more students become obese, we can’t stress more on obesity issues. By encouraging more students to go out, the general health conditions will be gradually improving. And most importantly, students will be aware of the seriousness of not frequently doing physical exercises. It’s high time that student should change their previous behaviors to embrace a new beginning. There’s no denying that students can benefit a lot from participating in such program.

Hopefully, my suggestions can be of some use in helping make a more reasonable schedule. And it’s my sincere hope that everyone can have fun and learn something from this program.

Yours Sincerely

Chen Lei

I’m interested in driving and would love to attend driving classes with you. If you wonder why I choose driving classes instead of second foreign language, below are my reasons. To begin with, after three years’ hard study in academic subjects, it’s high time that we try something different. Language learning is nothing different, given that we have already learned English for years. Driving is not necessarily easier than our studying at school, but it’s a good way to relieve us from the intense atmosphere. Next, if we are talented enough and make as much effort as we do with our academic study, we will able to get the driving license within one month, or even sooner. Thus we shall have almost 2 months left in the summer vacation, for other plans like traveling, speaking of which, here come the last point. How nice would it be if we can arrange a self-driving tour one or two weeks before the university enrollment. It will be an exciting and unforgettable experience for us. It is even sillier to be upset for his parents’ turning down. As far as I’m concerned, students’ top priority should always be studying. He/she should always focus the attention on the study rather than thinking about playing or following the trend. 5What’s more, it is mentioned that Xiao Ming wanted to change his mobile phone simply because he thinks that his mobile phone is out-of-date, which, in my humble opinion, thinks his behavior nothing but ridiculous. Even if we are rich now, never can we forget to be economical in reality. Since it’s not broken or out of order, there is no need to change. (128 words) Composition B Dear Xiao Ming, I’ve heard that you are suffering from your parents’ not allowing you to buy the iPhone 5. A s your classmate, I felt a pity that you’re struggling to get your dream realized. But, at the same time, I really don’t think buying iPhone 5 is such a good option, especially for you. 5 You know, youngsters of your age are all using iPhone 5 now. It has already become the mainstream. Do you think using iPhone 5 is really innovative? Definitely not! As the new generation, we need to develop our own ideas instead of following others’ steps. What’s more, since your parents disapprove of your buying iPhone 5, why not trying other brands? In my opinion, other brands are far better than simply iPhone 5. 10 If you have more questions about choosing mobile phone, feel free to contact me via email. I’ll be more than willing to pull you out of your misery. Yours sincerely, Zhang Lin-lin (160 words) Composition C Dear Xiao Ming, It is said that your parents don’t allow you to buy the iPhone 5 in place of your old cell phone. And you are upset simply because it. As for me, I think that is quite understandable. Young kids like us are always trend-followers. Thus, we should definitely feel free to buy
